Need another sign that vegans are winning? The dairy industry is so desperate to stop people from ditching its products that it’s resorted to scare tactics. If you haven’t seen these new ads yet, you’re in for a laugh!
Personally, I find drinking the secretions (which are often loaded with pus and hormones) of a mutilated, confined animal to be a little scarier than having to shake my almond milk—whatabout you guys?
wow! how stupid. its sad that they are targeting kids and moms with this commercial. but, notice how in shape and healthy the alternative milk drinking mom and kid in the commercial look. at least they got that right!
I can’t believe you all missed what went on in this commercial. It only happened in the last few seconds with the “REAL MILK DOESN’T NEED SHAKING”. They are setting up dairy milk to be the standard by which everything is to be compared. They are purposely reinforcing cow’s milk as the milk and to that everything else is an imitation. This is the reason why we call it soya milk. You could say that we are describing the product or classifying it, but we aren’t. Otherwise, our omnivorous counterparts would call it cow’s milk.
that’s true. i never thought about that, but when i’m home i never call my milk soy milk or my cheese soy cheese, i just say milk and cheese lol. and im not sticking up for the dairy industry by any means here, but they are the standard because cow’s milk has been around way longer than soy, no? and altho more people are drinking cow’s milk alternatives nowawdays, the majority of people in the world still drink cow’s milk. so i think that’s another reason why they’re making the point that it’s the standard.
I agree! I call it as it is, soy milk, almond milk, coconut milk. I’ve had omnivores call me a hypocrite for eating “Soy chicken” or “Soy sausage” so I decided to change my ways… things are now “Soy nuggets” and “Soy links” “Tofu patties” etc.
I really don’t understand why the dairy industry uses the “shake, shake, shake” thing against alternative milks? I really see (or in my case hear because I can’t watch tv or videos) desperation here! This is even more ridiculous than the one commercial I heard about the “fake cheese”!
This also tells me, even though I may sound extreme and a little selfish here, that the dairy industry also doesn’t care about Vegans that are allergic to animal milk (ie me)!
I have never shaken my soya milk . Never heard anyone doing that and I have used it since it first came to the UK as a liquid. ( When it was a powder it needed stirring into the water.) I managed for 5 or six years with no “milk” of any kind. It wasn’t a problem,
I do remember shaking cow milk when we got it free at school. The cream separated out and floated to the top so real cow milk DOES need shaking.
These people don’t even know about the stuff they are promoting or they are thick . Probably both.
I’ve watched this three times now and still honestly can’t see any point or message at all in it. What does the shaking of the “alternative milk” have to do with the boy having nightmares? And is the supposed “fact” that “real” milk needs no shaking supposed to be a sign of its superior quality? I’m actually truly trying to get the viewpoint of this commercial, and find myself unable to!
Dairy Farms are cruel places for cows! We need to educate the public on what is going on in these places. I went to “Kelsey’s Dairy” in Whiteland Indiana in the fall of 2009 with my grandkids and we got a “first-hand” look at the cruelity. I will tell you this-NEVER will I EVER drink or eat a dairy product. We need to inform the public and let these dairy farms be “prisons for cows” places of the past-no longer able to operate under the law (Federal Law).
