I woke up this morning and realized it was November. Wow, when did that happen?! I guess it’s true what they say, time flies when you’re having fun and oh man, have we been having fun! As a Road Warrior we get the opportunity to travel the country and experience the most exciting things. More importantly, we have the opportunity to do something amazing each day—save animals. We are fortunate enough to be able talk to people about issues so many have never heard about.
We just did a fun filled three days of Video Games Live. For those of you who don’t know what that is (trust me, I had no idea either), it’s the coolest show in which they play video game clips and double it up with amazingly orchestrated video game music.
For three days we got to talk to all sorts of interesting people and asked them to sign our petition asking McDonald’s to demand their suppliers to switch over to a method of killing that would ensure less pain and suffering for their chickens. In slaughterhouses, millions of chickens get their throats cut while fully conscious, often have broken bones and extreme bruising and sometimes even get thrown into defeathering tanks and are being scalded alive. Yes, scalded alive! If this is new for you and you are as appalled as we are, join the others who have signed the petition here.
The other day we woke up in one of the coolest cities in the country, Portland, OR. Portland is basically a vegan Mecca with so many different things to do and wonderfully delicious places to eat. They even have a “vegan mini mall!” and before you ask, yes we sure did go to Voodoo Doughnuts and scored on some delicious vegan sweets. Vegan doughnuts with Fruit Loops as a topping? Yes please!!! Speaking of food, it’s right about that time for us. Let’s see what kids of yummy vegan food we find today before joining our friends on the Fearless Friends Tour.
Oh and by the way, if this sounds like an amazing way of life, which it is, make sure you take a look at our tour internship program. You never know, I might be seeing you on the road next …
