Pigs Abused by Walmart Pork Supplier!

Last week, Mercy For Animals (MFA) released its latest undercover investigation—into Christensen Farms, a Walmart pork supplier:

At a Christensen Farms facility in Hanska, Minnesota, an MFA investigator documented horrific cruelty and neglect, including the following:

  • Pigs suffered from large open wounds and pressure sores from rubbing against the bars of their tiny cages or lying on the hard concrete floor.
  • Workers slammed conscious piglets into the ground and left them to suffer and die slowly.
  • Workers ripped out the testicles and cut off the tails of conscious piglets without the use of any painkillers.
  • Sick and injured pigs with severe, bleeding wounds or infections were left to suffer without veterinary care.
  • Workers prepared to force-feed female pigs watery feces and dead piglets.

Almost all of the 100 million pigs killed for food in the U.S. every year endure horrific conditions like these on factory farms. These social, sensitive animals spend their lives in extremely crowded, filthy warehouses, in which they are deprived of even natural sunlight until the day that they are crammed onto a truck bound for the slaughterhouse.

Want to help stop this? Go vegan.

This is the story of how I became a vegetarian:
I have been a vegetarian for 13 years now. When I was a little girl I wanted to become a veterinarian. So this one day I told my mom that if I wanted to become a veterinarian I couldn’t eat my patients that I had to cure them instead. She was very surprised and didn’t believe me much but from that day on I wouldn’t eat any of the meat put on my plate. She tried forcing me to eat it, talking to me about it, taking me to the doctor, but nothing worked. I never went back to eating meat and overtime she just had to accept this.

Get a fence, let your dog run around, play with it. If you “don’t have the time,” give your dog to a better home. I had a dog a few years ago, a beautiful golden lab named Maddie. Unfortunately my mother, my siblings and myself were all in school at the time, and my dad worked nights, so Maddie was in a kennel almost all day. We played with her whenever we could, but we realized it wasn’t enough. So we gave our beloved Maddie to a family in the next town who homeschooled their children, and took their dogs everywhere with them (including bed!) and we went to visit her whenever we could. She now lives and plays in the mountains of Alberta, and is happier and healthier than ever before!

We could all sit at home and cry about the horrible things being done to these animals, but we don’t; we take action, we take pledges and we make a difference! Yay PETA!! :)

I’ve been a vegetarian for a year and 2 months. Last year i was with my friend and she showed me a video on how these animals are killed and i just felt really bad i decided to go vegetarian because of that bad feeling i just cant stand how people sit there and eat animals thinking that its ok.

I have always lived in Los Angeles but my family and I went to Mexico for my parents wedding. So we came back to LA. I don't like LA but were here already what can I do unless I move out and find my own housing. I have always liked animals and it was til I was like about 14 when I learned about tests they do on animals and I began to explore animal cruelty because I was interested it in it. I have watched videos that just broke my heart so that's why today I'm doing all I can to not buy anything that has harmed an animal and I'm vegetarian .
