Known for his strong opposition to factory farming, and staunch stance against the Canadian seal slaughter, it should come as no surprise that yesterday President Obama denounced the crimes conducted by Michael Vick, who helped orchestrate an illegal dog fighting operation that resulted in dogs being hung, electrocuted, and shot for “entertainment” and profit.
According to The Huffington Post, Obama feels that “the actions committed by the [quarterback]—the orchestration of an illegal dog-fighting ring, the killing of animals and the deceiving of investigators looking into the matter—were condemnable.”
As always, the president is all about moving forward, and PETA is right there with him in the hope that Michael Vick will spend every second playing football and never look sideways at a dog or any other animal as long as he draws breath, because most of the dogs he knew over the years didn’t get a second chance, and the ones who did still shake and cower to this day.
