I know what you’re thinking: Ryan, last month’s “Eff the Heat” fruit kabobs were so delicious and so refreshing; it might damn well be impossible to top them—and under normal circumstances, you’d be right.
These, of course, are far from normal circumstances. For you see, this month’s theme is “appetizers,” which just so happens to be my culinary secret weapon.
Now generally, I only pull these babies out when the situation calls for a Trojan horse—a vegan snack that people don’t realize is vegan until they’re already enjoying them—but for you, I’ll make an exception.
I give you, chili blanket bites!

What you’ll need:
First, you’ll want to pop the crescent roll tube (the best part!) Lay the rolls out on a cooking sheet, and set the oven for 350 degrees. Cut your veggie dogs into halves, place one half on each roll, and top it with a spoonful of chili. Roll them up like burritos, and cook in the oven for 10–12 minutes (or until golden and flakey). Then if you want yours to look like mine, pull the rolls out, slowly cut them in half, diagonally, while looking at one of your friends and saying “You see these?! They’re all mine!”
