What can you possibly make with chocolate that’s somewhat healthy? Trail mix? Meh, that’s kind of boring—although it is delicious. Chocolate-covered oranges? Gross. Chocolate-covered strawberries? Heck, yeah!

Chocolate-Covered Strawberries
5 strawberries
1/3 cup dark chocolate chips

  • Wash the strawberries thoroughly.
  • Choose one of two ways to melt the chocolate chips: (1) Place the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl and zap in the microwave for 1 minute. Stir and zap again, a minute at a time, being careful not to let burn. (2) Place the chocolate chips in a glass bowl set over a cup of boiling water. Stir until completely melted.
  • Hold each strawberry by the stem and dip into the chocolate. If you’re burning your fingers, use a spoon to slather on the chocolate instead.
  • Share with a friend and sink your teeth into happiness.

Makes 5 servings

Since most of us are beginning to think about our New Year’s resolution to get into shape, this is something that you can eat without feeling too guilty. Why not take these sweet treats to a party or your next family gathering? Everybody will enjoy them!

I am 13 years old and joined the street team June 2015. I am a vegetarian. I have a passion for working to help save animals. I love my family and my 2 pugs, Daisy and Diesel. I plan to work for Peta or Mercy For Animals someday because they helped me become a vegetarian and begin a whole new life of having common sense towards all animals.
