When it was time for us to think of a new theme for this month’s “Recipe of the Week,” we tried to pick the most versatile food we possibly could … tofu! Tofu is rich in protein, minerals and plant components called isoflavones—making it healthy, on top of being delish! You can make almost anything with tofu, and last night I tried making BBQ tofu steaks (for the first time, and they were amaaazing!). Here they are!

If you have a grill, use it! Sadly … I don’t, but I do have a counter-top grill. I oiled it up using organic olive oil, and grilled these tofu slices (extra firm, remember? Make sure you soak all of the water out, click here for how to press tofu!) for 20-30 minutes after marinating them in A1 for about a half an hour in the fridge. I like things extra crispy (some may say burnt), but how long you grill them for is up to you. Serve and enjoy!
Try them out and let me know what you think!

Well let's just say life ain't always beautiful but it's a beautiful ride. I love all my pets and would do anything for them. I have one dog, two cats, a ferret and my babygirl shaymin,(the cutest hedgehog alive) I'm into all different kinds of music. I'm a singer myself and love art.
Father loves to farm, be self sustainable, loves to read, he's a antiques/vintage auctioneer, art student, and looks like mr. Rogers. My mother is a Montessori teacher and is amazing with children, all about local organic foods, loves gardening, cooking etc. my sister who is nine years older than me was into indie music and introduced me to all sorts of things at a young age. This all rubbed of on me and from that base I grew into similar things. I'm an INFJ
I'm tall, a geek, nacho - obsessed, I love sewing and Cath Kidston, also I'm vegetarian (wannabe vegan.)
I love animals about as much as rock, heavy metal, tea, and coffee. Hoping to make a difference and help animals through PETA!!!
I want to get into marketing but not have to rely on people which have different morals and worldviews than I do to hire me. While I'm figuring this out, I want to show everyone what I believe in and spur them into action against injustices.
I am Angela. When I am not helping animals I am listening to music, reading, or playing video games. My spirit animal is a fox and I love nature. What else is there to know? Want to know anything about me, need advice or anything message me :)

Not to be a Debbie Downer, but BBQ sauce has Worcestershire Sauce in it and that has anchovies in it.

Hey Rebekah,
Great looking out! Lots of people aren’t aware of that, but there are also plenty of vegan-friendly BBQ sauces out there. So if the one in your fridge has Worcestershire in it, head to the store with mom or dad next time to help them find a tasty cruelty-free bottle!

This recipe was delicious! I used Jack Daniel’s spicy BBQ sauce and grilled it with a George Foreman grill. I made some tomato basil risotto to go with it. Vegan has never tasted so yummy.

This looks so yummy.. I’ve always wanted to find a way to make tofu without the concept of it actually being tofu.. Good idea
