Saving the World, One Veggie Burger at a Time
Posted June 4, 2010 by Rachelle Owen
Need more proof that you’re doing the right thing by not eating animals? We’ve got it. The United Nations has just released a brand new study that says that a global shift towards a vegan diet is THE WAY to save the world from hunger, climate change and from basically running out of fuel.

What do
I have to say?
DUH! The study directly says “Impacts from agriculture are expected to increase substantially due to population growth increasing consumption of animal products. Unlike fossil fuels, it is difficult to look for
alternatives people have to eat.
A substantial reduction of impacts would only be possible with a substantial worldwide diet change, away from animal products.”Awesome! But did the UN just say that veganism was difficult? C’mon, UN—don’t tell me you’ve never had a veggie burger! It’s easier than EVER to
go vegan right now—with things like vegan sour cream, ice cream, and mock meats to
replace any kind of product you can imagine.
Next time someone is being a jerk and asks you why you “don’t care about people,” quote this article, because guess what?
You’re saving the world—what are they doing?
