But What Can I Do to Help?!
I know what you might be thinking: that helping animals is only for “professionals” or for “people with really shiny hair.” But guess what—ANYBODY can help animals, no matter where you live or what your background is!
To prove that you don’t need fancy degrees or magical vegan elixirs to do what’s right for animals, check out what these Street Teamers from all walks of life have been doing lately to help. 🙂
Yuliya decided to do her school project on PETA and our founder, Ingrid E. Newkirk, to raise awareness of animal rights!
Our team in the school project, which was advocating for PETA, won the first prize! Now PETA will have a place in the school’s Martin Luther King Jr. Hall of Fame. Thank you so much for all your help! A few judges specifically told us that our visuals were the best out of all the groups, and they were all the ones you sent us.
Hmm … speaking up for animals AND impressing your teachers with your compassionate and brilliant mind? Yes, please!
Fourteen-year-old Amy spends a lot of her time volunteering at a chicken and turkey rescue near her hometown in the U.K. So awesome, right?! Pretty much every town has an animal shelter or rescue nearby, so try stopping by one day and asking to help. Imagine getting to hang out with cute animals all day!
Jessica saw Momo in a kill pen about to be sent to slaughter (yeah, people are actually slaughtering horses still) and stepped in to rescue her!
Hey guys!! I have been a peta2 member for a while, and I just wanted to share that a few days ago I brought home a horse who was slaughter-bound! Her name is Momo or “Princess Peach” and she is a white Arabian horse. She was in a kill pen and due to be shipped within hours, her history is unknown and I just had to save her. She is amazingly sweet.
Way to go, Jessica!
