My dog IS a rescue. He’s an AMSTAFF and could not be more lovable! He’s a goofball and he is just so sweet. People are afraid because he’s a pitbull, they don’t even give this breed a chance! He’d lick you to death before ever biting! We got him in 2003 when he was about 1 1/2. My husband was working at the shelter and was told that it was Cole’s last day… we couldn’t let him be put down. He was a miniture of our other pit. (Even our vet called him “mini-me”) Can’t rescue all of them, but we saved this one that day and I couldn’t be happier. He’s between 8 and 10 yrs. old now and still so much fun to play ball with. He got along well with our other pitbull who was 3 at the time. Everyone thought 2 males would be dangerous but we proved them wrong! Save a pet!!

My dog was found in a trash bag along the road, suffocating with his brothers and sisters. He is a mutt and his name is Eddie. My dog is now 12 and gets much love at home. <3 He is the most thoughtful, wonderful, amazing dog ever. He doesn't ever cause any trouble and is always there for me. he is my best friend and confidant. I saved a life and got a best friend. :)

My family and I rescued out dog Lady in March. As soon as the rescue lady brought her to meet us we knew she was the dog for us. The home she came from had kept her outside all the time. They didn’t feed her and she was found to be eating rats to survive. She was scared of everything, even the sound of a pop can opening. Since she has been with us she has fattened up and gotten the proper grooming and vet care. We are working on gettin her socialized and less afraid of everything. She now lives indoors and sleeps every night on my bed.

I adopted my 2 Jack Russel Terriers 3 years ago at a Las Vegas Kill Shelter. They were only a few months old and no one had claimed him or his sister. We decided to adopt them, because they were so energetic and loving he had to take them home! He named the boy “Bentley” and the girl “Foxy”! I absolutely love them, they are my everything 😀

My Dog is a Jack Russel & Terrier Mix She’s the most loved dog in the world. Her name Is Abby and Fortunately She’s Not just a dog she’s family to everyone who knows her. she’s a rescue dog we received her a year ago when a teacher from my school brought her to my house my mom had been wanting a dog but we just couldn’t find one, she had been working at a local restaurant when a teacher came in and mentioned if she knew anyone who wanted a dog she replyed actually I do. she gave the woman her contact information and she was gone, a few weeks later she had come in and he told her that all the dogs were gone, months went bye… and there was no word. and unexpedily in the middle of summer the dog was brought to the house. she was abused and treated horribly by the previous owners. now she’s are little Princess.

My favorite mutt was our “walmart” puppy that we took home one week before Christmas. The guy had a 2 buggies full of puppies. The puppies looked to a be range of husky, lab, bloodhound mix. And my parents felt bad for the guy and the puppies. It was freezing outside. So we ended up with the runt of the litter, a little yellow colored puppy that looked like Old Yellar. That dog was wonderful. She fit right in with our family. And nobody cared that she came from “walmart” or that there was telling what she was mixed with. Ole’ Mary was my favorite.

My current rescue pet is a rat terrier I adopted from the shelter Dec 2007. Her name is Juno, and she is a great dog! We go everywhere together – she even has her own basket on my bike and pink goggles to wear while we ride. : ) Everyone on the bike trail gets a kick out of her as we ride along.

My favorite mutt is my Chow-Shib Inu mix, Gaz. She may even has some Corgi in her too. All of the mixed breeds make her look like a little pig and she makes oinking sounds when she gets excited. I adopted her from a shelter three years ago – the vet thinks she is six years old but we know nothing of her past other than she was picked up as a stray and was shot by a BB gun at some point. She is so loving and sweet and gets excited when I come home, even when I was only gone for a few minutes to take out the trash. I think we rescued each other.

I have Fuego, my beloved animal companion. He’s a mix between a Lab, Golden Retreiver, and Yorkie, so he’s just a hodge-podge of cute!

Fuego and I have grown up together and he’s the most loyal friend I have. We love walking together, he loves to play tug-of-war and this dog will do anything for a piece of bacon. When I’m sick he lays in bed with me, when I’m watching movies, he’ll curl up on the couch and watch with me. He likes to pretend he’s macho, but his curled, fluffy, wagging tail gives it away that he’s a teddy bear. But I don’t let him know that we know he’s not very tough.

My family adopted him from the Champaign-Urbana Humane Society. Fuego was pretty young then and when we walked in the place it was loud with barking and whining. But Fuego stood out to us because he was just laying in the corner, quiet, staring at us with big, brown chocolate eyes. I had saved all my money to adopt a dog and I knew he was my soul mate.

Right now I’m away at college and my parents keep him while I’m away, but I miss him so much and everyone teases me because I keep pictures of him everywhere. But Fuego really is my best friend and I love him so much. =)

My dog Zeus is a dog from a Indian reserve, they beat him with shovels, pots, and pans everyday. He was just a puppy, not even a year old when we got him. He was forced to live in a cage out in the middle of winter in a backyard with another puppy, laying in their own food and faeces. All they had was a little wooden ‘doghouse’ not even big enough for the both of them in the cage. They were going to shoot him with a rifle the next day, so we adopted Zeus and he’s been with us ever since!
(Don’t worry, the other puppy got adopted too 😉 )

My old next door neighbor had lots of rescue dogs and I used to visit her everyday as she is elderly and didnt get much company. We took her dogs for a walk everyday and I enjoyed it so much that I asked my Mum for our own dog. After allot of persistence our family rescued two Springer Spaniels who I love so much and I would be lost without them.

My puppy is a rescue from an organization that I volunteered for for many years called “animal aid”. The minute I saw my pup I knew I had to have her. The rescue agency does at home check ins and background checks on all people hoping to and that do adopt animals. I love my puppy so much! Best decision I ever made!(:

My first dog I ever had was Winnie. She was a ten year old Basset hound who was surrendered by her owners(because their daughter went to college.) The family had her since she was just a puppy. She was my best friend, she passed away 5 years ago. After the loss of Winnie, I knew that I wanted to rescue. It took a while to heal from her loss but once I was ready. I rescued Ollie (Oliver) a 6 year old Basset hound. Who was living on an over-crowed farm, forced to live in an outdoor barn. Ollie is a greatest dog you could ask for he has a bit of anxiety when left alone (obviously normal after what he went through). But is still the happiest dog I know. A few months ago we added our new addition a white with brindle spotted Pit Bull named Riley. I rescued Riley after reading a craigslist listing saying that “By the end of the week if no one takes her she would be brought to a shelter!” Ollie and Riley are an odd duo but they love me and each other! I couldn’t imagine life without them!

I rescued my dog Drew from someone who worked two jobs and was never home…he was a sad soul. He is totally an indoor dog..he hates to be out, he does his business and can’t wait to get back inside with his human family. We have had him for 8 years and he is an old man now (12 in human years) but still happy…he has never went potty in the house and he always gets a little treat when he comes in…of course he is a mutt (chocolate lab, chow & pit bull) but he’s our mutt and we love him so :-)

We adopted our dog, Ripley, from our local SPCA in 2009. She was left on their doorstep sometime after they had closed for the day, in a box, in the dead of winter. No one knows what happened to her “owner”, her mother, or her litter mates. When we adopted her, our vet predicted she was only 4-5 weeks old. We are so happy she’s grown up to be a perfectly healthy dog and couldn’t have asked for a better companion. She will be 3 on Valentine’s Day. :)

Shelter animals truly make the best pets!

my dog isn’t from an animal shelter but she is a mutt and we bought her from someone who couldn’t take care of her anymore, and shes part chiwawa, cockapoo, and many many other things, she is so cute. She is really small but has a big heart. She thinks she is our watch dog, she will attack whenever someone is getting hurt, even if me and my brother are just wrestling around she thinks someone is hurting us so she will break it up. She is awesome.Even though she eats my burritos and stuff when I’m not paying attention, which is pretty funny because most of my burritos are bigger then she is, (: but she is really protective, sweet, and always smells good, for some reason..which is awcward… but its true.

When I was 16 years old my Mom’s husband brought home a medium-sized dog abandoned in his taxi whom I named Taxi because he was black and white like the sign on the taxi. I would come home from school to feed him and walk him. We would go to Central Park and spend the day( we would take the train in); and he was so friendly.
The horrid landlord of the house forced my mother to force me to give him up. She would evict us otherwise. I have never forgotten that dog and it still saddens me that I lost a friend who enjoyed my company and kept me company.

I adopted my dog, Lucky, in November of 1999. My mom and I had made a decision to adopt and decided to go to the local dog pound before leaving on a short trip to visit family. We went into it thinking of it as a preliminary trip, just to get an idea of what we were ultimately looking for. We spotted my dog in the first kennel as soon as we walked in. Lucky was only 9 months old at the time and was supposed to already have been put down, but thanks to the wonderful woman who worked there, she kept him in hopes of him finding a home. We convinced her to keep him there an extra two weeks while we visited family out of state and when we returned, we freed him and brought him home. He’s been with us ever since.

So many people gave me reasons why I didn’t want a rescue dog: you can’t have a puppy, you can’t “choose” your dog, they all have behavioral problems, humane societies kill animals. Well! Sometimes what you know for a fact, ain’t always true. Some human societies, like ours, have an active “no kill” policy. My dog, #404014, adopted at six weeks from the local humane society, was CHOSEN by me. I wanted a puppy, there were PLENTY of puppies the day I came. “Prudence” (I named her after the Beatles song) is a mix/mutt. She was found wandering by trash cans — the worker told me sometimes people abandon or throw away puppies that cannot be “passed off” as pure bred dogs. She was born approximately on Feb 7th, 2008, and my husband and I adopted her on April 11, 2008. She is well trained, loves kids, cats, dogs and all people. She goes with me running and lives in “her” chair during the day. She sleeps with us at night. Don’t let anyone tell you that you have to get a “bred dog” in order to get your new family member. Check out her lovely photo on my twitter page rechtle. She even puts up with getting a Santa photo every year….

Well I have one rescue, her name is Queeny, she was abanded, and I was told that she was peed on and abused because she used to get in trash (she was hungry, of course).. So my dad and I took her and brought her to my house. Now she is fed, and loving this life better then her last, my guess is if I didn’t get her she would have not been alive today ! & that makes me happy knowing I saved her life, I’ve had her for about 2 years now, and she’s had two batches of puppies living here with me and we kept one, and his name is Branson, but now Queeny is fixed. & She seems to feel a lot better. But when I have my own house, I will adopt a puppy from the shelter to save a puppy life !

This is actually so funny because I just rescued my dog on Sunday. He’s a 9 month old Portuguese water dog mix. We went to see him on Saturday and fell in love with him, we got the application form and left the shelter just before it closed. We went back the next morning right when it opened, with my brother (all family members need to be there to adopt) and got him. We gave him a bath right after we got him and took him to buy a halter. He was so happy and excited to be out of the shelter. We took him home and after a while I think he realized he was staying. He’s the sweetest and cutest dog, he doesn’t have any problems and is well behaved except for chewing up some things (obviously he’s a puppy). We decided to name him Ozzy and we’re so happy to have him. He’s perfect.

    I have two rescued dogs.
Dharma was rescued first. She is a hound mix. She came into a shelter I was working at (SPCA). She was an abuse case. She lived her first four months in a crate with her three siblings and mother. They weren’t socialized, and were poorly fed. The “owner” would hose them down when ever they got dirty and that was their only human interaction. When the shelter brought her in she was shut down, afraid of everything. Then one day as I brought her onto the play floor a man came in to foster her; she ran and jumped into my lap. That moment on she was attached to me. I was actually the first one to get her to walk on a leash. Soon I was able to adopt her. She is still shy with new people but she loves animals, her brother, and the family.

Philly is a rescued Pit Bull. He was found wondering the streets but there was evidence he was abused, mistreated, and then dumped. He was obviously bought to be a “guard” dog and to look “scary” (his owner even cut off his ears with scissors), but because he failed his “job” they dumped him. The other shelter I worked at brought him in. It was love at first site. Unlike his sister he bounced back fast, loved everyone and every dog he met. He was untrained and wasn’t house broken, but he picked me much like Dharma did. Then a Policy change came around and they wanted to put him down. I got him out of there.

He now lives with other dogs, cats, mice, rats, and a bunny. He loves them all. He also loves children.

Both had bad starts but are now having a happen ending. I work with shelter dogs and I love nothing more but watching them get adopted. I love training them, working with them, over coming obstacles with them. Shelter dogs are beautiful. And they are my life.

I love my baby, Ruby. She looks exactly like Toto from the Wizard of Oz, it’s sooo adorable. She is the cuddliest pup I know and is completely loyal to you. Sometimes she thinks she’s a cat, which is even cuter. I could go on describing her for a really long time, but I’d rather play with her :)

me and my cousin rescued a pitbull that was used for fighting and we adopted her from the animal shelter. she was a pitbull mixed with a black lab. her name is silver and shes the best dog ever. you just have to give abused rescue dogs time to heal and slowly they will become safe with you. they are the most loveable dogs ever. they have seen the light and know what you did for them and they appreciate you more thats why they are better than any purebred. they are more pure than any purebred.

Both my doggies are rescues, Ozzy and Sharon! Ozzy was on his way to the pound on Monday morning when I noticed the sign in the yard free puppies to a good home on a Sunday afternoon drive. And, Sharon was found in the woods with cuts so infected that the vet could not suture the wounds. Later we learned that she had a very rough six year of life. She was breed many times with no medical care. Even shards of metal were in bedded in her teeth where she chewed through a metal fence to escape her previous owners. After a five hour vet visit and months of love, Sharon is happy and healthy. I think the next 6 years of her life will be a different story!

I don’t know if my dog is considered a rescue, but to me he is. His name is Snoopi and he was born dead. We rushed him and his mother to the vet and he revived him thanks to God. He is currently very happy and energetic. The most amazing part is that he is white with black spots, but he has one big spot that look just like angel wings :’)

My cat I rescued while i was with an ex boyfriend of mine. obviously IM not happy about the “ex” part. in fact i rescued my kitten who had major attitude when she was a kitten. then i took her from my ex boyfriends trailer and said i never want to hear from u again! so i fled his town like a bat out of hell and took my kitten Lucy with me. but the unknown part is that i got a $300 speeding ticket for barely speeding. so. i settled my ass down and paid my ticket. the sweet part i want people and Lucy to know about is that i only really was telling her that i knew she wanted to get to my house not be in my car and so that’s y i had to take the back roads and speed. i haven’t caused any accidents in my life but this wasn’t a cheap ticket for me so out of the love for my cat can i please please win this tee shirt please!!! sigh.

I have tried to save animals, countless times, but we’ve only been able to save 3 kittens. My brother brought the tiniest one home just at 3 weeks and shes still small today. Her name is Munchy (Munchkin) or Me-Mew because her meow is so high pitched. Our other 2 cats are Aria and Ariel. They would be lost without one another because they are sisters. Doing everything together, they make sure I get out safely in the mornings. My aunt has saved 1 dog and my grandparents took her in. Her name is Daisy. My grandparents also take in stray cats that may be running around. Such great people. ♥

My family has rescued two dogs so far, and they’ve been the best additions to my family! We rescued our Pomeranian, Gracie, when I was in first grade from an overcrowded home that ended up being the death of her sister puppy. She is so sweet, but such a little rebel sometimes. We also recently rescued our dog Shyla, who is a poodle/wire-haired terrier mix, from the Humane Society. She is so clumsy and is a white, fluff-ball of glee. Having her tackle you when you get home is the most refreshing, and sometimes painful, thing that anyone could ask for. :)

My dogs and cats are all rescue animals. They have been with us now for over 6 years and some for 13. They love and are loved so much and no matter how hard it has been at times to keep them in good food they are worth it! Each one has their own little personality and Smokie has his own BIG personality!
They love to travel and that’s a very good thing as I have been labeled a “gypsy” by all my family and friends!
PLEASE get an animal from the pound or free on craigslist….you’ll not only save a life you’ll enrich yours.

Shes like a daughter to me, and one of the few things in this life i couldn’t imagine not having with me. I rescued her two years ago from the Mount Pleasant HATS, in michigan. Shes my bundle of joy, and the apple of my eye.

I just recently got the chance to adopt a cute little dog named Molly. She’s a pitbull and the first thing i noticed were the wounds on her neck. I asked the old owners and they said she got ran over. I didn’t believe them one bit. The wounds eventually healed but I noticed some things about Molly. She wouldn’t eat food when someone was around; she ate it in secret. She was always on gaurd and she hid when she slept. And whenever another dog came around she always lowered herself to the ground as if about to attack. I asked around and I concluded that Molly was a fighter dog. I’m glad I saved her. She’s warmed up to everyone in the house and I bet she’s very happy.

I can’t pick a favorite! I love them all! :) All of our dogs are rescues, or puppies of a a rescue. First there’s Sebastian(?) and Rachel(Part German Shepard). They were just wandering around town, along with Rachel’s puppies–she had 10. We adopted the last 4 puppies. Everyone else in town got one. Sebastian died later, from an unknown illness. the puppies names were Shep, short for Shepard(She looked more like her mother), Biscuit(He looked more like his daddy), Blondie (She looks more lab), and Sweetie (Who looks exactly like her mother). Their father wasn’t a stray, he just got loose every now and then. He was a mix of Chow and Lab. Then there’s Josie, who is part Flat Footed Retriever. The only dog we have that is not rescued is our Bassett Hound, Charlie :)

Fluffy is around eight years old. We can only guess her birthday because a vet said she was one when we got her. She was a Greek wild dog on Corfu where they are killed with poison or shot in the winter.
We fell in love with her when she jumped on our sunbed one morning – and stayed with us for the remaining week of our holiday. When Fluffy first got her collar while we were still in Greece, she ran around town showing it off proudly as though she knew her future was now saved and she’d always have food and a bed.
She’s a bit wild, obviously, but also very very cuddly and she loves to run and play in the fields. She can open doors and she’s just come in. I love her to bits :)

I love my rescue dog Rusty. He’s a great big baby. He looks like he might be part lab and possibly part pit bull, but nobody really knows for sure. Anyway, he looks big on the outside, but he is really just a little softie. He is outnumbered by kitties (also rescued) at our house, but he just fits right in with them. Also, he loves to dress up! He has Halloween outfits, Christmas outfits, etc. And when he’s wearing his outfits he just prances around so happy like he knows he’s the most handsome dog around! He enriches our lives everyday!

My dog Mama is a 13 year old puppy mill rescue Yorkie. When the kennel I used to volunteer at took her, she was one of the dozens of dogs they were going to simply burn because they were too old. They’d broken her jaw so she wouldn’t bark- she had to have surgery to replace it with an artificial jaw and to this day she only has about four teeth in the back of her mouth. Her fur was matted down with so much filth and feces that the kennel had to shave it off. When we first got her, she was always nervous and didn’t make a sound. Now she’s an inseparable member of our house with four other chihuahuas and bounces around like she’s a puppy most of the time. She has to be fed wet food, which is somewhat of a chore because the other dogs always scratch at the door to try to break in and steal it, but she’s just like all the other dogs in the end.

Well my beautiful Old English Sheep Dog is not a mutt he’s purebread….but he is however a rescue dog. I personally rescued him from a reserve. I found him tied in someones back yard with no food or water, 30lbs under weight, matted to the point he had to be shaved down to the skin, missing a toe from frost bite and a hernia and slipped rib from being kicked. It was love at first sight, he looked deep into my sould and said “Let’s go home mommy”. I knocked on the strangers door and told them they had to give him up he cant live on like that they demanded 100$ and I gladly gave it to them in hopes he would have a better life. That was Oct.19 2009 and he’s now 110lbs full coat of hair and beautiful as ever, very obidient, gentle….the best pup I could hope for 😉

My dog is a Golden Retriever, her name when we had gotten her name was Kayla but it was only given to her so that she can be identified, she really had no idea what her name was. We thought long and hard as a family on what to name her and we decided to name her cookie, and she is 8 years old. Our family rescued her from a puppy mill about 4 years ago, she was locked up in a little cage with her mother in a room that was very dark and had about eight to ten other cages full of dogs, it was truly sickening. She would refuse to breed so they really didn’t have any use for her and had mentioned to us that they wanted to shoot her if no one had taken her, she would only be let out of her cage twice a day to use the bathroom and would have to share a little bowl of food and water with another dog, the day we picked her up we seen the lady pulling out parts of her hair that had knots. When we first brought her home she was very skinny and stayed on the couch for days she would scarf down any food we had given to her. Months after, you couldn’t raise your voice, make any loud noises or make and abrupt movements around her. She wouldn’t make a sound, play or even wag her tail for about a year after we had gotten her and to this day she is still terrified of certain things such as: thunder, flashlight, camera’s and loud noises. It has taken a lot of time and patience but she has come such a long way in the past four years, she is very energetic, she loves her treats and will let you know when she wants one, she’s best friends with our cat and will wash her until shes soaking wet, she loves everybody, and is just learning how to play. She is the most loyal, lovable and trusting dog I’ve ever known, after seeing what she has been through it makes her affection so much more meaningful and it makes me love her soo much more. She’s a funny dog that is full of personality and can make you smile and laugh no matter what mood your in, i’m so glad to have her in my life, she means the world to me! <3

My dog Charlie is a rescue who came from a terrible puppy mill. He was super skinny and stinky from being urinated and pooped on in by the 14 other dogs who shared a tiny cage. As a result of the crammed cage he has a crocked tail. His hips were square since he never had the chance to walk or play, being stuck in a cage.

He was taken away from his mother too young and has a very sensitive stomach. But if you were to meet my Charlie, you wouldn’t have the slightest idea that he came from that environment. He is the most friendly, happy go lucky dog you’ll meet. He loves to play fetch and go for walks. He is an awesome dog and I am so glad to have rescued him when I did.

I adopted my pup, Tater, http://instagr.am/p/eb0AS/, on May 15, 2010. He was 9 weeks old when I got him. He had been found wandering the streets in an abandoned alley, and that’s all of the knowledge known of his early puppyhood. My veterinarian is not entirely certain of his breed, but she’s concluded that he’s a mix of corgi & terrier with some possible dachshund and chihuahua. He’s extremely intelligent, and an absolute love. He is yet to meet a dog or person that he doesn’t like. He simply adores children… and his sibling cats! He’s full of energy, and is always ready to play. He’s so sweet-natured and easy going (as you can probably deduce from his Snuggie photo! ^.^) I feel so incredibly blessed to be Tater’s mother.

My boyfriend and I found Bandit, our pit bull baby, outside of our yard three years ago. He was emaciated, dehydrated, and very scared. We brought him inside the garage once we realized what bad shape he was in, and proceeded to pluck 300+ ticks from his small body. We could tell when the pain got too bad, not because he lashed out at us, but because he would pant heavily and shake his tail. The next day we took him to our vet, who removed even more ticks, as well as injected him with fluids to help with his dehydration. Three years later, you wouldn’t even recognize him. He is the light of my life and such a goofy clown. People say he was blessed to find me, but I am definitely the one that was blessed. :)

My dog, Bob, was rescued by my family a few years ago. While my brother was practicing with his baseball team on the field.. an obviously food-deprived dog with two giant holes on either side of his neck wandered on to the field. Being the animal lover she is, my mother immediately brought him to the vets. We nursed him back to health while trying to find his rightful owner. After weeks of no luck, we decided to keep him. Bob is the most loving and affectionate dog I have ever met. We are sure he must not have come from a very nice home because he is very stand-offish toward people who aren’t in our family. I love Bob to death and couldn’t picture our family without him!(:

My chiweenie Lucy is a rescue. She already had puppies and had been at the pound for over a month when i found her. She had obviously been abused, and it took time to help her heal and come out of her shell, but now she’s such a goofball. I’m so glad i saved her, she’s my little baby.

I have 3 dogs and their all rescues, I’ll just talk about one. Chachi is the youngest of them and our most recently rescued dog. Before we rescued him he was living on the streets of Cumberland house saskachewan. my grandparents live there. Chachi was roaming the streets and he probably wouldve been shot if my grandparents hadn’t have asked us if we wanted him. I convinced my mom to get him and he turned out to be a wonderful dog he’s very very friendly and won’t ever bite.

I have rescued every dog I have gotten. When I was growing up, my family did the same, and I will continue to do the same with my kids. We have rescued 2 cats, a dog and 4 mice and will keep rescueing as long as we can. Mutts are the best dogs anyway!

My dog, Sarah, is THE BOMB. She is 10 years old and has a perpetual wet dog smell and a stubby tail from her previous abusive owner. She’s a beagle with a little teardrop on her head and a perfect triangle on her back. On our walks, she sniffs so intently that she often bumps into oncoming canines and trees, but I don’t think she can actually smell anything because of her inability to locate a treat she watched me place on the floor.

I have adopted 2 dogs from a rescue from Louisiana. Sonny is a white Shepard x husky and is almost 3 and Roxy is 1.5 years old and is a Catahoula Cer x Lab cross! They are both such characters. The moment i spotted both of them i knew that i needed them in my life! Saving both of them euthanasia from a rescue. They have made me the happiest person on the planet. Roxy greets me every time i come in the door, even if I’m gone for 30 seconds to the car. Sonny loves to play and goes through toys like its his job! they are such funny creatures and anything they do make me laugh. Waking up to them every morning and getting my morning kisses from my kids (i call them that) is the best and it gets me through my day to come home to them.

I have two doggies. Doobie is a basset hound /dachshund mix, when we rescued him from the shelter he mustve been only a couple of months old (even tho they said he was 6) because he has grown to be much bigger than any of us anticipated. Non the less he is the love of my life and it wouldnt be the same without him.
Our other doggie we rescued from the pound as well, but we chose her because she looked so sick and lonely. We took her with the intention of nursing her to health and finder her a new home, but i guess she didnt need our help to find a home after all ^_^

My puppy, Stoli Preston, was scheduled to be euthanized at only 8 weeks old. My boyfriend and I found him and did everything we could to get him! He joined our family at 8 weeks and has been the love of our lives since! He’s a blue heeler, lab mix and is the happiest puppy I think I’ve ever seen! He just constantly wants love and to show love! He’s now 9 months old and we are so thankful we found him and gave him a home and a chance at life!

My baby Smokey is the honestly the best dog I’ve ever had. He’s a feist/chihuahua mix and is the sweetest, most loving dog and so smart! We rescued him from a shelter the day before he was set to be euthanized. That was about nine years ago. I hope I have many more years with my pretty little lovebug.<3

I don’t have a favorite! Are you crazy?! You can’t pick your favorite child! They’re ALL my favorite! We have 7 dogs, two of which were rescued and we had two other rescues that we adopted to good homes. The dogs that AREN’T rescues were raised from puppies and bottle fed when our old girl had a litter. :) Our two rescues we have now are Piggy and Sam. Piggy is a pit bull/great dane mix and he was found about to be thrown off a bridge and we would have none of that. Now he’s home and his favoite pass-time is hugging. 😀 Sam is a a black lab and Piggy’s best friend. Sam is completely oblivious to surroundings and he apparently thinks he’s made of steel. Lol. He’s a lot of dog, but within that, a lot of heart. I LOVE our rescues! And I hope to find many more along the road. Any animal that needs us, no matter how big or small, furry or scaly, we will take it in. The most broken faces can be hiding the biggest hearts and we make it our job to let them reveal that to us. <3

My dog Stella is a rescue, before she came to me she had several “homes” in which she has been both abused and left alone for days. She was so unsecure and afraid when i got her, i could not even go to the bathroom without her crying and often peeing inside the house because she was so scared.
NOW, she is the most amazing and loving dog i have ever met.She have learned how to walk in a leash, simple commandos and to come to me when i call for her. She is still nervous around strangers and in new places, but is getting better and better for every day that goes by.
My love for her is undescribable.

I adopted my dog last year. Her name is Kahlua. She is very hyper and brings joy to the entire family. She got run over as a puppy by a car last year when she jumped our gate and we were all devastated. Luckily, she survived and we fixed our gate so that there is no way she can get out again on her own. I realized how much I would suffer without her while I was waiting to hear the news from the vet. Now, I am always by her side. I love her and I don’t know what I would do without her even though she is a new member of the family.

Our dog, Annabelle, was found on the side of a road in California completely flea infested and unable to walk, move or lift her head. She is a toy poodle and has neurological damage and the shelter wasn’t sure what if anything could be done. She has a wheelchair and has to be carried out to potty and yet is always so happy just to be with us. We drove from Arizona to California 2 weeks ago to adopt her. We are so thrilled to have her in our lives. She is an inspiration to us everyday!

My dog was a shih tzu <3 She was loyal protected me and loved me to death. She used to climb by head curl up and be my pillow when I was little. When my folks left to go out she protected me upstairs and watched the door to make sure I was safe. She was my sister and I loved her so much. She developed cancer that was terminal and she died when I was just 10 years old she will always be my sister and my favorite pooch no one can replace my little peckie (we named her that because the first time she ate in front of us she was a cute baby pup and pecked her food) :') <3

I can’t pick a favorite, since both of my dogs are amazing, even the ones in my past! My dog, George, was malnourished as a puppy. We rescued him from Delaware when he was two, and he was still in poor conditions then! Living with over ten other dogs, some of much larger size. His father lost an eye in a fight for food the week after we got him.
My dog, China, was rescued from a puppy mill. She arrived in the back of a truck in cages with tons of other dogs. We called the police about this.
And I still remember my dog Fuji, who had been there for 14 years of my life. I loved him so much, and then he passed away five years ago on Christmas Eve. I still remember it vividly.
I love my pets, and wouldn’t trade them for the world. <3

I have a dog named Dollie and she is about 3 years old. She is cute, adorable, and acts like shes still a little puppy. The person we got her from bought her from a farm. Im glad we got her because I cant picture her stuck on a farm where she probably wouldn’t of got the attention she deserves.

My dog Zoey came into my life about 2 weeks ago. I was driving home when I spotted her on the side of the road. I pulled over and was able to catch her. She was without tags and it was night, so I took her home with me where I cared for her. When my family got home, she won their hearts over and she has been with us ever since.
