I think we can all agree that seals are hella cute and innocent and that they could use every ounce of our help to speak up for them as Canada’s annual seal slaughter rears its ugly head.
How can you help? Whether it’s by sharing PETA’s website CanadasShame.com or our videos and infographics or by sporting this adorable “Save the Seals” tee, every effort made to educate the masses about the Canadian seal slaughter will help baby seals.

Me and my friends took to the street with handouts posters and our very loud voices, trying to encourage people to stand up for the seals and knock down their killers with the power of numbers and loud voices. Mass letters were sent to officials, texts were sent to friends and we took to the rush hour traffic with determination.

I was shocked to learn that the Canadian government still allows hundreds of thousands of seals to be slaughtered each year, especially given that the U.S. and the European Union have banned seal product imports and that Russia, Canada’s largest market for seal fur, has recently taken steps to ban seal imports as well. These gentle animals are shot or have their skulls smashed in by sealers. They are then skinned for their fur, often while they are still conscious. I plan on helping by donating money to this society

I have begun work on a online petition to lobby Atlantic governments in Canada to make the seal hunt illegal. I put aside $200 dollar out of my last paycheck to donate to IFAW for the baby seals. Additionally, like last year my roommates and I are attempting to reduce our carbon footprint by 5% therefore helping to save the sensitive habitant in which seals live. <3

Stopping The Seal Slaughter has been one of my major concerns.I post awful pictures on my Twitter and Instagrm pages. I leave fact packed informtion lying around for others to find. Wow, I am deeply impressed with everything that you are doing for these seals. I agree that these ignorant people must be stopped. I refuse to be quiet, and I am glad that I am not alone. I feel proud to have somebody as efficient as you on my side of this war. I have signed a lot of petitions, but I know that I have mised a lot. You said that you forward them to your family and friends. Is there any way that you could also forward them to me? I want to do everything that I can to save the seals, and every other animal. I believe that a lot of people commented because they think seals are cute, or they just want the free stuff. I know I do not know you, but I believe that you truly care about them.

I live in Canada and I love my country but when I first heard of people doing this 2 these sweet,cute,adorable creatures I finally found a good reason 2 be disgusted with Canada .I plan on helping seals with the injustice they face this year by telling all my friends and family about them ,posting everything I can find about stopping the seal hunt with plenty of pictures of these cuties ,(you can’t look at them and say that they deserve to be dealt this fate definitly not) on facebook because everybody knows that the internet holds strength and power ecspecially in this day and age and pretty much everybody goes on computers (excluding like grandparents)and I’ll tell everybody 2 share the stuff.I’m planning on making a pitition later on this year and the final way I plan on helping the seals is wearing this t-shirt perferably well asking people to sign the pitition.We have to help them because they’re no match to a 6 foot monster with a club and a knife ,they already have to worry about polar bears trying to kill them and thats for food ,there’s no reason for these people killing them ,and if you asked them why they’re doing this they probaly would’nt have an answer

I’ll help seals by getting permission from my school (because every flyer posted has to go through review at my school) and then posting flyers all over the halls, cafeteria, and bathrooms to educate the students and teachers at my school about the problems the seals are facing. Saving the seals is my obsession! There is not a day that goes by I don’t spread the word about these poor innocent creatures. I have handed out numerous leaflets, which I plan on continuing. This year I hope I can really educate the people in my town about the cruelty in this so called ‘sport’ the Canadians find entertaining. The Canadian seal slaughter has always been the one thing I talk to people most about. It’s something I care about very much. Speaking for these defenseless animals is something that shouldn’t be taken lightly. I plan to talk about the Canadian seal slaughter for as long as it’s around. I always post something on Facebook about it. I Tweet about it. I blog about it. And I do it the old-fashioned way; I talk to people about it. This shirt will spark more people to ask me about it, and I will more than glad to inform them of the dangers these poor creatures face every year. Thank you Peta2 for doing all that you have done. But you dont have to talk about it like its any less important,a woman actually tried to say ”dont we have more important things to worry about for example child abuse” as one of her ”examples” and I asked her what was the difference between child abuse and animal crulty? dont we all feel pain?

Hi! i plan to spread the word by sending out the emails and posting on my facebook mostly, ive seen videos of the seal hunt sent to me before and it really opened up my eyes, so im sure it could for other people too! i have the “club soda, not seals” sticker on my laptop, and a few friends have seen it and thought it was cute. and true! Why are people hurting any animals?! its horrible. but i plan to definitely spread the word

The biggest way we as individuals can spread awareness is through word of mouth. The easiest way to get the conversation flowing is with creative t-shirts like these! Whenever I wear a PETA shirt people constantly comment on it and it gives me a chance to share my knowledge! I would love to add this PETA shirt to my collection!

This is one of my biggest campaigns too! I am going to save the seals by donation, posting to facebook, signing every petition/letter/pledge, speak out about what the government is doing to seals to my friends, family, and co-workers, have a sticker on the back of my car, and any other way I can help. And of course if I win the t-shirt, I will wear it to work on casual Friday, in public, and at friend/family gatherings too!

well i will do a project on it like a poster and a visual about seals and then show it to everyone and have a paper that will say “SAVE THE SEALS!” and i will get a lot of people to sing it and then i will go to a save the seals website and tell about it and tell how many people signed the slip!

Human is the worst enemy of itself- now its not the need, but its the greed that has taken over the minds, to extent that they kill innocent animals for fun. They have no feelings left for the miraculous form of life left on earth. I request all to act human and get their hearts tested. And come up to help save this loving animal.

As most people I spread important information via facebook and myspace and also emails. I also subscribe to the newsletter so I always jump at the chance to sign petitions and email congressman or people who use real fur or support the horrible seal slaughter. I lived in canada and once I found out about how horrible they are to seals I moved back to the united states. It’s just too horrible to bare and I will not stand for it! Also, picket signs are always a good plan!

Ive set up a picture on my wall that says club soda not seals and I’m posting everything you guys got to make people aware of the horrible and inhumane things these people are doing.they act as if seals can’t feel pain! I am strict vegan raised vegan as well, never tried meat in my life. I won’t even touch something tested on or containing anything from animals. I take online courses so I won’t have to do any cruel dissecting acts. I get my friends to do protests with me atleast once a month. As well we do I would rather be naked then wear fur campaigns at shows or on the streets in bikinis (including the winter in Colorado). And I have had six people go vegan in the past year with your help. I as well do protest for seals because they are my favorite animals like ever!!
