Vegan-Friendly Cafeterias Are Sweeping the Nation!

Colleges and universities all over the U.S. continue to make the progressive and animal-friendly choice to implement vegan-friendly dining halls. Next up: the College of Charleston (CofC).

That’s right—among the campus’s majestic oak trees draped with Spanish moss in historic downtown Charleston, South Carolina, there will soon be a primarily vegetarian dining hall.

Steph and Meagan, our Campus Outreach belles, on the scene at CofC.

Our Campus Outreach Crew was there last semester to assist CofC’s Vegan Club in campaigning for more vegan options and saw firsthand the need for a facility that offers delicious cholesterol- and cruelty-free foods. Here’s what they had to say about the news:

Steph: “Students at the College of Charleston have already shown enthusiasm for healthier, cruelty-free options on campus. I am especially excited to see these plant-based options prepared with the Charleston charm that entices so many students there, enabling everyone to make easy choices in order to make a great difference in the world.”

Meagan: “I’m excited to hear that change is being implemented as quickly as it is and that students at Charleston are embracing that change. Next step: all vegan!”

Shannon (me): “Hell, yeah!”

From the University of California–San Diego on the West Coast to CofC on the East Coast, all-vegan and vegan-friendly dining halls are quickly becoming an American staple.

“And crown thy vegan food with nutritional yeast, from sea to shining sea!”

Our Campus Outreach Crew is gearing up for its spring tour and will be hitting the road in the next few weeks, so if you’re excited about campaigning for an all-American all-vegan dining hall on your campus, don’t hesitate to let us know!

I have always lived in Los Angeles but my family and I went to Mexico for my parents wedding. So we came back to LA. I don't like LA but were here already what can I do unless I move out and find my own housing. I have always liked animals and it was til I was like about 14 when I learned about tests they do on animals and I began to explore animal cruelty because I was interested it in it. I have watched videos that just broke my heart so that's why today I'm doing all I can to not buy anything that has harmed an animal and I'm vegetarian .
