After thousands of emails, hundreds of phone calls and a PETA “monkey” paying a visit to China Southern Airlines’ L.A. office, the airline—which is the largest in China—has made the compassionate decision to cancel its plans to ship 80 monkeys from China to the U.S. where they were going to end up in the hands of Shin Nippon Biomedical Laboratories (SNBL) and Harlan Laboratories and be tormented in cruel experiments.

Our “monkey” poses with two China Southern Airlines employees, who were behind us 100 percent.
Now, we’re urging China Southern Airlines to join many other major airlines, including Delta, American, United,British Airways, and Virgin Atlantic, and refuse to ever transport primates to laboratories again. Send Tim Zhang, the cargo manager at LAX at zhang@csair.us, a polite letter. We’ll keep you posted!

Hello! My name is Nina, and I am a musician-in-training, and I play 7 instruments. I am a liberal, an LGBT activist, avid reader, composer, singer, and poi spinner. I am vegan, and a strong supporter of animal rights.
I was born in Canada and love peta2. I table every month and meet new people:older and younger. I love music and play the recorder. I'm a 6 year spelling bee champion. Again I love peta2!
I have always lived in Los Angeles but my family and I went to Mexico for my parents wedding. So we came back to LA. I don't like LA but were here already what can I do unless I move out and find my own housing. I have always liked animals and it was til I was like about 14 when I learned about tests they do on animals and I began to explore animal cruelty because I was interested it in it. I have watched videos that just broke my heart so that's why today I'm doing all I can to not buy anything that has harmed an animal and I'm vegetarian .
I'm tall, I love sewing, fashion and the environment, also I'm vegetarian (wannabe vegan.) Obviously, I love animals! :)

How can anyone with a heart or conscious even think of harming or making a animal miserable. They have no feelings. Thanks to all who emailed. Continue to earn points for Heaven. It will be the right thing to do and God will not let it go unnoticed for he never intended for his creatures to be subjected to cruelty. He put them here to bring us happiness and companionship.

Here is a sample email:
Dear China Southern Airlines,
I was very happy to learn that China Southern Airlines decided to stop the shipment of 80 monkeys from China to the US on 15 August. That decision saved those monkeys from unspeakable pain and suffering from unnecessary and cruel laboratory experiments. That decision saved 80 lives.
I, along with countless others around the world who believe that animal testing is an archaic, ineffective and barbaric practice that is in fact an obstacle to medical advancement, implore China Southern Airlines to stop shipping primates for research all together. Other major airlines including British Airways, Delta, United and Virgin Atlantic have all ready done so. Please join them in helping to stop the violence.
Thank you for your time and attention.
Sincerely,
[YOUR NAME HERE]

Has the airline vowed not to ship primates in the future?
That would be tremendous, on top of this sweet outcome!
