Phew, what a summer! Warped Tour officially wrapped up this past Sunday in Hillsboro, OR and it was a bittersweet ending to an incredible summer. It’s one of the toughest tours to travel with, but it’s also one of the most fun tours around. peta2’s tour team made it look like a breeze this summer, and I’m pleased to share our success with you all !
Let’s all give it up for peta2’s tour interns that worked their asses off this summer *round of applause*! They did an outstanding job speaking to concert goers, and thanks to their hard work more than 178,000 people signed the “Flesh is for Zombies” pledge! Excuse me while I bust out my inner nerd, but let’s do the math here. Let’s see, that’s roughly 15 animals saved per person per week, multiplied by the number of people that are going Flesh-Free on Fridays, so we’re looking at roughly 2.6 million animals who won’t be eaten this year! Holy shit! Check out the chart that was used to track this monumental success throughout the summer.
Since I’m a former Street Team member, I am pleased to say that 90 volunteer spots were filled on this year’s Warped Tour, and we couldn’t have done it without your help. A big special thanks also goes out to our friends in A Skylit Drive, Relient K, Terrible Things, and D.R.U.G.S. for stopping by the peta2 tent to hang out. And shout outs to The Ready Set, Hellogoodbye, Enter Shikari, VANS, and all of our friends on the tour supporting peta2.
We’ll see you all next summer! Keep checking back here for more updates from the road!
