Warped Tour Update: Make Do And Mend

It’s been a few weeks, but I’m happy to announce that we’ve got another update from Make Do And Mend vocalist James Carroll, reporting from the trenches on bowling, burritos, and celebrating our nation’s birth.

*****

Hey all,

I write this blog update from the bench of our bus in St. Louis, Missouri. St. Louis has always been one of my favorite places to play, at places like FUBAR. California was a blast—San Francisco by the bay and an amazing charity bowling tourney in San Diego were definitely highlights. Now let me say this … I am not a great bowler. I’m not even a good bowler. I will use this blog as my formal apology to my teammates as well as the sport at large for my atrocious performance. Luckily our boys in Every Time I Die played hard and left with the trophy. After Cali it was on to Phoenix, Arizona. PHX has always held a very special place in my heart, and a burrito from my favorite burrito spot in the entire world, Las Favoritos in Tempe. Even 112-degree heat couldn’t get me down.

Slowly we made our way to and through Texas, which brings us to yesterday—the day of our nation’s birth—or more importantly, grilling, swimming, and fireworks. After spending an ignorant amount on things to blow up, I had a great night of eating. I started with veggie franks and beans, and then moved on to some portobello, red pepper, onion, and marinated tofu shish kebobs that I must say were pretty perfect. Here I am with all fingers and limbs intact, and we are on the road again.

All my best until next time,

James

Be sure to support Make Do And Mend when the guys roll through your town’s Warped Tour (and enter to win free tickets!). If you’re feeling inspired, you can grill up your own veggie kabobs with some of peta2′s tofu and seitan recipes. Yum!
