I couldn’t be more excited about this year’s Vans Warped Tour lineup, which contains some truly compassionate and really great bands—including peta2 friends Make Do And Mend, who are out in support of their new album, Everything You Ever Loved. We’ll be hearing from vocalist James Carroll throughout the tour, so be sure to check back!
Hello. So this marks my first installment of the Warped Tour 2012 Blog. First off, I’ll introduce myself. My name is James Carroll, and I play in a band called Make Do And Mend. I have been meat-free for seven years, vegan for five of those.
This summer we are out on the Vans Warped Tour, and I must say we are having a blast. Being surrounded by the likes of Polar Bear Club, Title Fight, Fireworks, I Am the Avalanche, Living With Lions, and Every Time I Die is like getting to tour with all of our best friends all at once. Not too shabby.
Leading up to this tour I was definitely nervous. Nervous that we might not fit in amongst the rest of the bands and even more so amongst the kids that attend the tour. But it was pretty clear from the first day that we were gearing up for the summer of our lives.
Salt Lake City and Denver treated us well, and then it was on to Sin City: Las Vegas, Nevada. Unfortunately, I didn’t have enough money to adequately sin on this trip, but a friend was kind enough to bring some Ronald’s Donuts (the best vegan donuts in existence) to the show. I got to share my treats with a few other vegan brothers on the tour. Ronald’s is definitely the best part of Vegas in my opinion.
We journey on from here to California. I will be in touch soon.
