Orcas are intelligent and social animals. In the wild, they swim up to 100 miles per day and many stay with their mothers for life—but this is not the case for orcas imprisoned by SeaWorld.
A video showing Kasatka (a wild-caught orca enslaved at SeaWorld) exploding in extreme frustration at trainer Ken Peters has just been released—providing even more proof that orcas and other marine mammals belong in the wild!
When Kasatka heard her baby’s calls for her from another tank, she dragged her trainer underwater repeatedly, shaking him before the stunned audience. Check out the shocking video:
You’d think that after this scary incident (and it wasn’t the first time that Kasatka attacked Peters) and the tragic death of one of its trainers in 2010, SeaWorld would’ve realized that orcas and other marine animals belong in the wild—but no, it’s still confining orcas to tanks that, to the animals, are equivalent in size to bathtubs! It’s insane, right?!
