Posted July 20, 2005 by Rachelle Owen

On July 20, 2005, PETA received written assurance that Wet Seal will not carry fur this fall season. As a result, PETA has called a moratorium on its Wet Seal Campaign until January 2006, when we’ll meet with the company to discuss a permanent fur-free policy. In the meantime, please stop all communication with the company. We have agreed to stop campaigning entirely until January, so this includes writing and calling anyone associated with Wet Seal. Please take a look at for all the details.
Thanks to all of you for this amazing achievement! Each letter written, leaflet handed out, and sticker stuck played a part in this step forward in the fight against cruelty to animals. Thank you once again for your dedication and hard work. Congratulations, and keep it up!
Show Some Love for Hawthorne Heights
In case you weren’t aware, Hawthorne Heights and peta2 are good friends. We like their music and they do some amazing work for animals. Seeing as they are such sweet dudes, we want to help them get the video for “Ohio is for Lovers” some airplay on MTV’s Total Request Live. Go to and get it done.

Also, keep an eye out for a delicious contest from peta2, Hawthorne Heights, and Victory Records very shortly. I can’t give you any details right now, but it’s going to be the biggest thing ever, you can count on that much.

As a kid, I was and am still curious about the great big world we live in, and I thought nothing of animal abuse. But for some or no completely good reasons, I was getting sicker and weaker. Then one day I heard about PETA while I was on the internet. I got a little curious, and I went veg after finding out meat was one of the reasons I was sicker. Right now, I'm still trying to give up meat for my health. But I'm getting there!
