I’m pretty stoked about my birthday/Christmas presents (or at least the ones I know about so far):
-Season Four of 24 on DVD
-An FM transmitter for my iPod
-A new tattoo involving Earth Crisis lyrics and some birds
-A handful of mixtapes
My friends and family are pretty awesome, right? We designed this new gift registry for our site where you can send a list of all of the PETA merch that you want to your parents or your boyfriend or whoever is buying you things, like that “Mean People Wear Fur” ringer or the peta2 zip-up all the hipsters are raving about. The best part – when you send your list out to everyone you’re entered to win everything on your list. Check this junk out.
Also, in partnership with mtvU, we’re giving away a 26-inch widescreen HD-ready flat-panel LCD TV, an Xbox 360, a digital camera, some stuff from Coheed and Cambria, Franz Ferdinand, O.A.R., Matisyahu, and Motion City Soundtrack, and lots of peta2 merch. Wanna win?
I picked two winners for those Joaquin anti-fur posters – Kristen Norberg and Shelley Lampreau. Here’s some more Joaquin FYEyes.
Pulin and intern Colin are on the road with The Suicide Machines, Stretch Arm Strong, and Whole Wheat Bread. We hear it’s going great with tons of people checking out the videos and signing our J.Cruel petition each night. In Orlando they were lucky enough to eat vegan hot dogs and chili “cheese” nachos (jealous!) from a vendor who sets up across from the club almost every night.
While in Panama City, Florida, one of the opening bands, In Darkness Shining, had their own peta2 literature out in addition to the peta2 table that our staffers set up. Jonny from IDS told Pulin about their upcoming tour where he’ll have info out at each stop. Exciting stuff. Check them out myspace.com/indarknessshining and see them on tour.
I’m going to annihilate some Tofurky and a plethora of other vegan delights tomorrow. We’re off work ’til Monday, so don’t miss us too much.
