I love pop punk as much as the next stage diving-New Found Glory hoodie wearing-vegan, but I’m still an ’80s baby and a total sucker for classic rock anthems. I’m obviously not alone in my ways, because Fearless Records has made “classic rock” the theme of the latest installment of their hugely popular Punk Goes … compilation series.
Following in the footsteps of Punk Goes Pop and Punk Goes Crunk, Punk Goes Classic Rock features over a dozen bands covering songs from their favorite artists of the genre. Hit the Lights take on Boston’s “More Than A Feeling,” The Maine spice things up with the karaoke classic “Pour Some Sugar On Me,” and Mayday Parade and Never Shout Never pay tribute to Queen with their renditions of “We Are The Champions” and “Bohemian Rhapsody.”
With all these peta2-friendly bands on board, Fearless may be giving Epitaph a run for their money for next year’s “Most Animal-Friendly Record Label” Libby Award!
