I feel like I say this a lot, but I really am stoked on all of the great albums that have come out lately. It’s officially fall, my favorite time of year, and my soundtrack to the season is shaping up quite nicely! The new Paramore (which I know you’ve all entered to win, right?), The Avett Brothers, Frank Turner, and Brand New are all in heavy rotation. One album that I’m particularly in love with and couldn’t wait to tell you guys about is Ups and Downsizing by The Swellers! From playing local hardcore shows in their home state of Michigan, to signing to Fueled By Ramen, to opening up for Paramore on their sold-out fall tour, The Swellers have quickly made a name for themselves.
I caught up with singer Nick Diener and drummer Jonathan at the Richmond, VA stop of the Gig Life Tour this summer to talk about why animal rights is important to them and the easy ways you can get involved.
These guys are rad and I highly recommend you watch the interview, share it with your friends, and go pick up their new album! I have always lived in Los Angeles but my family and I went to Mexico for my parents wedding. So we came back to LA. I don't like LA but were here already what can I do unless I move out and find my own housing. I have always liked animals and it was til I was like about 14 when I learned about tests they do on animals and I began to explore animal cruelty because I was interested it in it. I have watched videos that just broke my heart so that's why today I'm doing all I can to not buy anything that has harmed an animal and I'm vegetarian .
I'm tall, I love sewing, fashion and the environment, also I'm vegetarian (wannabe vegan.) Obviously, I love animals! :)

I can’t lie, my favorite thing about Fall is Football! It’s always my favorite time of year because of the tours going on then too. Also the weather and Halloween are pretty great too! Oh, and my birthday is in the Fall too! Yeah, Fall is pretty awesome!

My favourite things about fall is the all the beautiful colours that come along with it. Also the weather. Its not too cold and yet not smoldering hot. Theres so much fashion trends that come with it too! Plus the sound of crunching leaves when you take a walk. Its so peaceful and beautiful!

i love going for rides and watching the leaves change color here in vermont its gorgeous..i also love halloween and handing out candy to trick or treaters for every one i give out i eat one too..LOVE DEM SNICKERS

My favorite thing about fall is the gray sky that covers everything around here. It feels like a veil, making everything a little harder to see, and people a little harder to read. It takes the pressure off, I guess, with back to school and the terrible weather. At least the sky is sympathetic.

my favorite thing about fall is definitely the weather. i can’t stand when it gets super hot in summer, which it very much is in socal, and i get cold easily so boo winter. but i still prefer being a little cold/cooler. so fall it is!

My favorite thing about fall is all of the wonderful reasons to wear vegan clothing.
Such as faux leather boots to jump in plies of leaves and PETA1 hoodies.
Homemade Halloween costumes are the best. There’s no easier way to make new friends than to make your own vegan Halloween candy to pass out at school.

My favorite thing about fall is that people don’t have cookouts nearly as often as summer time, so that means less helpless animals being consumed! YAY! Plus, the mosquitos are going away, so no more Triple E and West Nile! Oh and the orange leaves and free candy at halloween and such are pretty cool too.

my favorite thing about fall is the leaves and the weather and pumpkin picking and taking the hay ride down to the patches and getting to look at all the different colored leaves on the ground, while there they give you nice warm yummy apple cider, then you take the pumpkins home, carve them and then cook the pumpkin seeds, it’s the perfect fall day, it’s the best thing ever, seriously, if you’ve never picked/carved pumpkins and cooked the seeds afterwards it’s seriously the best thing about the fall and i suggest you all do it!
