Hey sports fans, I’m excited to present to you our brand spankin’ new anti-fur ad with none other than WNBA superstar Candace Parker! Check out Candace and her adorable pooch Fendi in their “If You Wouldn’t Wear Your Dog, Please Don’t Wear Any Fur” ad.

Cute, right? I’m so happy that we have a female basketball star posing for peta2. Don’t get me wrong, it’s great that Amar’e Stoudemire, Gilbert Arenas, and John Salley have all stepped in front of the camera to speak up for animals, but it sure is nice to have one of the gals on board, especially Candace because she kicks major butt. The LA Sparks forward is only the second woman in WNBA history to dunk during a regulation game! I’m lucky if I can even get the ball to hit the backboard.
Candace, who says she learned about the cruelty behind fur from a video and class projects, told us she wanted to take part in this campaign because, “I really feel like it’s very cruel what they do to animals, and I love my dog and couldn’t imagine anybody harming her.”
She also told us that her dogs are such a huge part of her family that they’re even on her Christmas cards! Find out what else Candace had to say in this behind-the-scenes footage from her photo shoot.
