World Water Day: How Much Is at 'Steak'?

Did you know that it takes 4,000 liters of water to produce one steak? That’s right, in addition to contributing to cruelty to animals, unhealthy eating habits, and global warming, factory farming and raising animals only to kill them accounts for more than half of the water use in the United States. Check out PETA Germany’s World Water Day Installation to help prove the point.

You can save more water by not eating 1 pound of beef than you can by giving up showers for an entire year. In a world where roughly 1.1 billion people lack access to clean water—something most of us take for granted, this is just one more reason why you should go vegan for people, and the planet.

This World Water Day, do something to make a difference for both humans and animals—try veganism!

Stay loud!

This is so awesome! A great idea to show people how much water is used to produce the meat they eat…
