So I know this has nothing to do with animal rights but I wanted the opinions from fellow vegans and vegetarians on this. What do you think about abortion? I am 100% pro-life and because I know many of us support the idea of life preservation for all walks of life, I am interested to know how you feel about this matter.
Personally, I don’t think it should be banned by law, it’s not anyone else’s business to decide whether a woman should give birth or not. I do think that people should avoid it at all costs unless they are unable to give birth safely, but that’s just my opinion. Of course, they should’ve also taken steps to avoid the pregnancy in the first place. Still, though, I don’t think abortion should be illegal for many reasons.
@veganistdestrox I am sorry if it takes me a while to get back to you but I am trying to stay off this site more and more now. Anyway, I won’t be redundant but let me just say that yes, I wanted opinions. And being judgmental is defined by each individual and to me, I was defending a point of view. Being judgmental to me would be saying that anyone who is pro-choice is a horrible person and I have never said or thought that. I do not find my responses to be harsh, only my logic expressed through words. It is different for everyone.
@newyork409 for someone that opened this post just wanted to know how others felt on the issue you come across as very judgemental. You ask for opinions and you got them. You did not say you were going to judge them and be harsh in your responses.
I’m pro-choice because just as I believe we shouldn’t breed animals as their purpose, I don’t believe women either should be forced to breed, which is what we are doing by not allowing safe, legal abortion. I am a woman, but that does not mean I have an urge or responsibility to produce offspring for any purpose.
