So I know this has nothing to do with animal rights but I wanted the opinions from fellow vegans and vegetarians on this. What do you think about abortion? I am 100% pro-life and because I know many of us support the idea of life preservation for all walks of life, I am interested to know how you feel about this matter.
I am Pro-Choice! outlawing abortion has never and will never stop it. Outlawing it forces young girls to get procedures done by people who have no business doing anything medical, and women die of medical complications from pregnancy because doctors refuse to perform abortions. there is a lot more too it than getting knocked up and not wanting a baby.
I do realize this is a very debatable topic, here. And I’m not trying to offend anyone, but I believe it should be the women’s choice. She has to go through the pains and heartaches, and, in the end, it should be her decision as to whether she carries the baby or not.
I did not mean to sound like I support abortion in my last comment. I feel like prevention is the key. Condoms, pills, and planning is the way to go. I am against abortion but I feel that every woman should have that choice herself.
@styna I totally agree with a lot of what you said – if I do decided to have children later they will be adopted, I’m not bringing more beings on this overpopulated planet. We can’t go on living like everything will be fine and will work out – it won’t if we are not conscious of what we’re doing. and implement new attitudes and actions. Abortion should not be used as a form of birth control – it’s bad or the female and unnecessary seeing as there are so many other options. So basically, abortion is only necessary in some cases, not every time and not as a means of birth control – and I believe that adoption should become more widespread, we are overpopulated enough as it is.
