I try to be as much of an activist as I can. I mostly do things online (through my blog and Peta2 and such) and I do as much as I can outside of the interwebs (Just stuff like wearing animal rights shirts or educating my friends and the rest of this week I’m wearing those yellow ear tag things) but I want to do MORE.
I have literally no idea how to find protests in my area (Utah) and I’m still waiting for PETA to send me pamphlets /:
What else can I do?
Sometimes if you sign up with nationwide animal rights groups like the Humane Society, Peta, Empathy for Animals, etc. they can keep you updated. I actually got an email from Peta about a protest this weekend in Charlotte which is close to where I live. Through groups at my school we are going to the protest this weekend. Like GI Joe, knowing is half the battle.
Sometimes you really have to search around to find groups that already exist though a lot of times especially if you don’t live in the city there isn’t always groups and things which is why it is best to start your own. Like if your school has groups/clubs things try and form an animal activist type one.
You can look online. I use a website called meetup.com and found a somewhat local animal rights group and they always post about the different protests and things going on. Also another great way to find people that care about animals is to volunteer at local animal shelters or sanctuaries. Which is also another way I find out about local stuff is by liking all the local shelter, sanctuaries, and state wide organization pages and stuff on facebook.

All animal emergencies (injured, stray, neglected, abused, etc) should be reported to our Emergency Response Team, not posted on the Boards.
