I always get unsweetened Almond Milk (Vanilla for cereal, original for baking, and chocolate because… Omnomnom)
I just prefer Almond Milk to Soy milk. I like that it is a bit thicker, and in general I keep my intake of soy to a minimum. I have scrambled tofu maybe once or twice a week, and that is generally all the soy I consume.
But even before I went vegan, I preferred Almond milk to Cow’s milk.
It all comes down to what you like though! You really just need to figure out what you prefer. And don’t limit yourself to soy milk and almond milk – there is a whole world of cow’s milk replacements! Coconut milk, rice milk, hemp milk – give ’em all a try.
Almond milk has a sweeter taste to it, and soy is more mild. I always go for vanilla with either. If I drink too much almond milk, my stomach get a little weird because of the sweetness. For everyday, I recommend soy milk, if you’re in the mood for something sweet or if you want what you’re baking to have that extra sweetness, go for almond. It’s best to just go try it out for yourself. Silk brand is very nice. They even have coconut milk, I just don’t like coconut milk too much. :/
