    Lately, I am just always hungry. I am vegan and a serious athlete. I have pita bread for breakfast, PB&J for lunch, a clif bar for a snack, some tofu or fake chicken type thing for dinner with bread, almond milk, and rice or pasta, and hummus right before bed. I also take vitamins. What could I add to my diet to add more protein or just fill me up?

    Thanks guys! I started having oatmeal for breakfast, I added beans to my lunch, and I snack on dried fruit throughout the day. I’m not always hungry anymore!

    Hey @Rainstar,

    I recommend putting more legumes and whole grains in your diet because they’re packed with protein and really fill you up! Try making a big pot of stew with lentils, brown rice or barley, and tons of veggies like carrots and broccoli. It can last you several days, too. :)

    And if none of those suggestions work… get checked for a tape worm.

    You definitely need to eat more at each meal – I agree with @Dagmar, any type of oats for breakfast is great for filling you up in the morning. Then add something like flapjacks, dried fruit and nuts etc. to your lunch because one sandwich is not enough, especially for an athlete!

    I would start by adding more to your breakfast. Maybe some oatmeal with dried fruit on it can fill you up more. I can never go without breakfast.

    Change up what you eat. Try adding little snacks during the day like crackers, nuts, popcorn, veggies, fruit etc. and change up what you eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner. chances are (since you’re a serious athlete) you’re not meeting your daily calorie requirement or you’re burning off too many calories. Definitely add more fruits and veggies into your diet! Best of luck :)

    In am not Vegan only Vegetarian but I think why it is that you are always hungry is because you need a little something extra.
    When having yout Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich for lunch also have a healthy side. LIke some Sun Chips or a side of some vegetables you like.
    Or change it up slightly, instead of that Clif Bar or a snack size of some sort of vegetable.
    The reason you feel hungry is because your body is use to the same things over and over, by changing it up could help.
    Also you might need more fiber in your diet, since you are an ahlete it would be good to add a bit more fiber for all your activities could easily be working off that food and calories and all your body needs is an extra healthy food boost.
