Hey everyone. I was sitting here perusing the boards with my cat Takoda on my lap, and I started to wonder about everyone else’s companions. What are their names? How did they come into your life? What makes them special? That kind of thing. Anyone willing to share?

My baby is a cat called “Lion”. I foster kittens for a local shelter, and Lion was my first. I’ve had him since third grade. I got him at two days old, when all he did was mewl, eat, and sleep. He hasn’t learner to do much else since then, but I still love him. :)

We currently have Auggie (our dachshund), Snickers and George (cats).

Snickers is the oldest I think she is around 13 or something now. We adopted here from an animal shelter when she was a kitten a long with another kitten who we named Kit Kat. First we lived in the city so we kept them as inside cats but we soon moved out to the country and they became indoor and outdoors cats. After a few years Kit Kat stopped showing up, he was deaf so it could have ended badly though also seasons later we found his collar and tags at the edge of our yard which it looks like it got caught on the fence and fell off they were simple clasp collars so easily fell off the cats. Snickers otherwise is the typical cat. She can be nice but most of the time she prefers to be left alone.

Auggie is the second oldest he is 10 years old. At the time we got him we had another dog Hurricane (a german shepard/ husky mix) who we adopted from the shelter when my mom was still pregnant with me. Auggie (who was originally named Toby) came from our neighbors across the street. Their dachshund Belle got pregnant (I forget if it was on purpose or not) but she was older at the time already. She gave birth to two puppies though one was a still born. They quickly got tired of Auggie chewing and peeing on things and we loved him so my parents finally agreed to take him. After Hurricane was put to sleep from old age problems after a year or so we bought another dog Lurch (a great dane) we bought him from a breeder though :/. Lurch only lived to be 4 years old and then he got bone cancer and had to be euthanized. We would all love another dog one preferably bigger than Auggie but we don’t really have the money right now.

George is the youngest we are guessing he is like 4 years old. We live in the country so people like to drop off cats they no longer want by barns with a lot of other cats. We think this is what happened with George. My moms friend who has a barn with a bunch of barn cats had this cat that she was trying to find a home for because he really loved people and wanted to keep coming inside. So my mom finally agreed to take him, so he was already a full grown cat when we took him in which is why his age is a guess. George is funny we named him after Curious George because he loves exploring and getting into everything. A lot of times even though he is starting to act more like a cat we say he acts like a dog. Whenever we go on a walk with Auggie George always wants to follow etc. George and Snickers don’t get a long all to well as Snicker lived years without another cat around after Kit Kat left but they generally just avoid each other.

Besides the animals I already talked about the only other animals we ever had were some goldfish and beta fish. My favorite being Spot Head a goldfish I picked out of the tank at the store because of the spot on his head. Spot Head lived for like 13 years or something. Though now I wouldn’t really want a fish or advise anyone to own fishes.

Oh my gosh my baby Milo (yes I call my cat my baby) is soo cute everyone who is lucky enough to meet him instantly falls in love. He has such a personality, believe it or not he *loves* to play fetch with beads!! He follows me everywhere, and is an orange tabby and also an outdoor cat. He spends countless nights outside, (because he doesnt come back till around 6:00am) and wakes us up with his meows and then eats and goes outside and sleeps under our trampoline. No one knows how old he is, the vet thinks 3 or 4. He did that cat thing where they pick 1 person and no to the rest(yah, im that 1 person :D) and i love him and about 5 nights a week he sleeps on my bed and when i sleep over at a friends house the next day he meows and ‘yells’ at me, I love him so much, hes the toughest cat on the street (no other cats come and chill in our backyard any more) and I dont know what I would do with out him!!!
