I feel stupid asking this being almost 26, and feeling like an old folk on this web page but…I’m in debate in getting an animal related job. I just don’t know where to start or what field to get into. I am not into the whole ACO idea, the ones out here have a problem with replying to anything (honestly my neighbor left her cat for a week in a stifling hot apartment, I called the animal control officer in our neighborhood who I was told told to call, he never answered and they have a rule about shooting stray cats in the area–not happening), and of course I’m against working at zoos for the obvious reasons. I’m not close to any vet schools and my regional school will not provide transcripts for Purdue online, so here I am unsure where to go next.

    Any suggestions would be helpful.

I feel out of place at 25 as well but the least you’ve done is show the younger generation that caring for animals and the planet is not a phase.

As for the job, I was thinking you could look around for a local animal conservation farm where they save injured farm animals and pets to give them a real life on pasture. Most of them accept volunteers with the option to keep them as paid help and the ones I’ve seen around here also cater a vegan lunch option to the workers.

Oh, and you could also work for PETA…

    Hey @silentscreamsinthedark,

It’s great that you want to make helping animals part of your career! Check out PETA’s list of available positions here: 🙂 🙂
