Are traditional animal crackers (those little animal-shaped cookies in the red circus wagon boxes) vegan? Maybe. Depends on if their sugar-maker uses bone char in the process. And what’s in that mystery artifical flavoring?
Better to make your own. Plus who wants to support a company that thinks it’s okay for animals to be in circuses? Not me, not with one shiny penny. Animal circuses suck.
So grab your cookie cutters (you can get sets of them anywhere from Walmart to Williams-Sonoma or individually online) and get to baking. Make big ones, decorate them with the words “Free Me!” and hold a bake sale. Donate the money to peta2, or to your local animal shelter! Bring them some cookies too and they’ll love you forever.
