Note: Traditional maraschino cherries use weird and evil red dyes so look for natural and organic brands that use no dye or vegetable colors, or use frozen cherries. Or fill in your pineapple spaces with other things like raspberries or blueberries, chopped fruits, raisins, chopped dried dates, pecans, gummy bears…okay I don’t really know what would happen if you put gummy bears in there before baking. Maybe add them in after the cake is baked. I just think they’d be funny sitting in those big yellow rings. 😉
