I don’t like it because they’re using at an insult. Why should I be insulted just because I choose the cruelty free way?

i been call a hippie so many times i really don’t care because i know that hippies are really nice people to know. since I’m a vegan and i care about earth i guess u can call myself a hippie with a little of heavy metal in there 2 lol

I think hippies are just awesome people.

a hippie is someone that is all for peace and love, or some may say a pot head. i do consider myself a hippie cause im all for the earth, peace and love and the animals!=]

I’ve been called a hippie, a weird little brat, a weirdo just because I wear colourful clothes and care about the environment and don’t eat meat! I’ve also been called an old person! [seriously, just 'cause I liked Simon & Garfunkel in grade seven does not mean I'm old!] Plus people at my old school said that my dad was a hippie for having a kombie! It is usually used as an insult these days but it’s a pretty lame one, seeing as hippies were just people in the eighties who decided to make a statement about the way people were living. if people want to call us hippies because we eat healthily and leave meat out of our diet, so be it, it’ll never dampen my spirits. It’ll take more than just the words of some ignorant peopleto keep me from my beliefs!

I’ve been called a hippie and a hipster, but I can’t really argue. I care about the environment, I am veg, I love nature, I am into art. Huh.

It’s more of an insult these days. Often followed by; eco terrorist, tree hugger, veg head etc.

I’ve been called hippie. Terroist. Artard. All sorts of insults that hold no truth. Last time I got called a hippy I asked if I looked like I was from 60′s, wore dyed clothing and was all up about peace. They soon shut up.

It’s a stereotype for caring people, proper hippies are what you say is BS and are long gone, they were around when PETA first started but died out later in the 1980′s.
And maybe you are, maybe you aren’t, but I for one am an intellectual.

Well my mum likes to say I eat “Hippie Food” so I think she regards me as one.

Hippie is more of an insult to me these days. It’s an outdated stereotype of daisy picking tree-huggers with too idealistic and naive values. Why do we have to be any of those silly labels that are based on how we dress/talk? What is hippie or scene, and why on earth do people care to categorize themselves in such ways?

Since hippies were people who rejected main steam institutions, and values.(i.e meant industry) I would say yes we are hippies.

What exactly is a hippy? Don’t tell me the bs wears peace signs and tie dye etc.. I consider hippies a down to earth person who cares about the earth..but I’m probably wrong-I always am.. :/ So like, back to my original question, are we hippies? And if we are, can hippies be scene? o.O
