Do you have Vegetarian/ Vegan friends? If Not, Does it ever bother you? I only know one other Veg, and she’s my cousin. She went Veg shortly after me. I don’t know why, But Lately Its been getting it me, Not having someone to talk to about AR related stuff. Don’t get me wrong, I love my friends, But I don’t want to come off as over powering or obsessive with AR stuff (I kinda, really am addicted to all things AR related)
    Well Thanks for reading. :)

I know how you feel, I don’t have any vegan/vegetarian friends either.I wish I did.I had a gf who was vegetarian but we are no longer together or talking. There’s one girl in my asl class who is vegetarian but I don’t talk to her much. Most of my friends are excepting and supportive so I’m grateful for that.

I literally know no other vegans. My mother is vegetarian, and I tried to get her to go vegan, but she won’t stop justifying her actions which definitely drives a wedge. But other than that, I’ve never met anyone else. Which is exactly why I can’t wait to move to California. So many vegans there! But for now, my best friend is really respectful and loves so delicious ice cream!

No,none of my friends are vegan/vegetarian.I’m the only one.
But I can talk to them about animal right, and things related to it,and they’ll listen.
They also try to help any way they can.But the funny thing is,is that they always ask me about Peta and how it works. They’ll help me post flyers, and they even signed my Elephants Never Forget petition.

Ha ha ha ha ha I wish! I have some “veg*n” friends (don’t really know how extreme they are), and my boyfriend is vegetarian.
It doesn’t bother me because they’re the ones that are creating bad karma and missing out on being veg*n lol
I feel ya girl. It’s really sad that I don’t have a lot of people to talk about AR, but that’s why I come here and write things on the board, because I know people understand me here! :D

My friends are supportive of my choice and I actually meet at a group at school where I can meet vegetarians and other vegans. No man is an island. I’m trying to get my boyfriend to go vegan and I have showed him documentaries, articles, etc. He still believes a lot of the lies of the meat industry, but i’m happy he is at least opening his mind to a different point of view. He even eats the vegan food I make for him. His favorite are the green tea cupcakes. Being proactive works best I think.

@VeganCaramel and @nomeatnodairynoproblem I’ve lost friends for that reason, And I Ended a relationship with my best fried, because she was extremely rude about my choice and made it a point to eat extra meat or talk about eating meat around me. My friends now are excepting of it, and they eat vegan food. But they’re not driven to the cause the way I am. That’s what gets me down sometimes, I have no one to really share my passion with.

My sister is vegan, and whenever my close friends want to go out for food, they are always happy to go to a vegan buffet. I don’t have many close friends because I don’t really tolerate people who are flippantly vegan-hating/mocking (or people who are extremely bigoted otherwise – I lost a friend in high school after finding out he was really religiously motivated to hate LGBTQ individuals, people who have sex before marriage, etc). But I don’t mind – because quality over quantity is key when it comes to friendgroups.

It would obviously bother me if people thought they could bring dead animals to any of the events/game nights I hold, especially when my sister and I are nice enough to supply great vegan snacks on the regular, (and not vegan food that makes people think it’s a health-fad or sacrifice either – pizza, cookies, etc). And you should feel free to strike up an AR conversation with your non-vegan friends, because it actually might lead to some change!

My family and close friends have all dropped meat from their diet because of my efforts. Most have dropped all animal products from their diet. There are some heavily addicted friends that I’m still working on.
In the past I have distanced myself (and eventually disassociated myself) with friends who turned out to be eating meat not because of a struggle with addiction but rather because events in their lives had made them cold & heartless and they just didn’t care. With 7 billion people on the planet, I don’t need to keep friends like that. There are plenty of good-hearted people out there who are more deserving of my friendship.
