I’ve bee vegetarian since September and it’s the best decision I’ve ever made!
I really really really want to go vegan at some point. I went veg. cold-turkey (no pun intended) with no problem. But I know that going vegan is going to be much harder. I’ve recently been cutting back on dairy coffee creamer (which is honestly, one of my biggest dairy consumption items) and I’m proud of myself for that!
But what are some other tips on cutting back on dairy products? Any help is much appreciated! <3
If you feel like there are certain things you just -have- to have (like some dairy products), just find suitable vegan replacements for them. Try using almond milk or coconut milk instead of dairy creamer.
I went vegan from omnivore overnight, and I think I lived on vegan hot dogs and vegan ice cream for like a month before I actually started to branch out and try different things, because those are the things I was most used to eating as an omnivore.
And absolutely DO NOT tell yourself ever “I can’t have that, I can’t eat that”. Instead, simply remind yourself why you are -choosing not- to consume animal products.
It’s not a process of elimination, but rather a system of replacement. You are choosing to replace things in your diet with more healthy and compassionate alternatives, and it is a great thing 🙂
