• Can't do my protest =[

So last year was the year I first started being a REAL activist. I planned protests and did lots of leafleting and even had an animal rights group at college. I found out that there’s an annual rodeo not far from where I live and decided that I would do annual protests there until it shut down.
The rodeo is on July 5th through the 8th and I already have signs and leaflets and stickers and everything. The problem is, on Tuesday I injured my knee and now I have to have it elevated constantly or else my entire leg goes numb due to swelling. The doctors think I may have torn a ligament and I’m supposed to stay off it entirely. Obviously, it’s looking as though I can’t do my protest.
It’s breaking my heart! I’m hoping that the other people I was going to protest with will take initiative and do it themselves, but I wish there was something I could do. I plan on writing letters to the newspaper about it and stuff, but I’m just really bummed out and I wanted to rant because I’m fed up!

Kudos to you for staging such a lively and powerfully minded protest! Sorry for you injury, but c’est la vie unfortunaly. Just try to spread the news with whomever you can, but don’t try to rush your injury. Take the time to rest, and as sad as it may sound, let others take your lead at the protest. At the end of the day, it is the idea that the protest is being done in the first place :) !

I’m sorry ! Write emails, send out letters and ask your friends to attend for you. Rest up and you’ll be able to attend the next event. Feel better !

Im sorry:( my advice would be if you can’t walk, use the internet and try to contact as many people you can to get awareness out (like you said about the newspapers) good luck!

Aw, that really is unfortunate. I suppose drastic times call for drastic measures and sitting in a lawn chair outside the rodeo would be one way to go at it. But that’s the best suggestion I can give. Sorry about your luck, but at least you’ve done other protests.

I’m sorry! That’s a bummer, but I know how you feel!
I’ve missed out on a lot of protests and such this summer because I had surgery a month ago, and I still can’t walk! What’s worse, is the circus is coming to my city and I was really excited to protest it, but I can’t because I’ll be on vacation the entire time it’s here :(
