Most cat cafes adopt cats for their cafes and the cafe becomes the cats home. They have plenty of food and are well looked after in all of the cafes I have heard of. I think it’s ind of a good thing? I mean they are taking cats from shelters who have no love and bring them to a space where they can be loved and well fed and snuggled.
I think as long as there’s not terrible people who are going to be terrorizing the cats that it could be a cool idea.! I’m sure people would love to come back to see there little cat friends, also the cafe or the people who are taking care of them I personally think will have to be good with the cats but it also might be a bad idea because I’m not sure it happens with cats that often but a lot of people will take there dog to like a dog daycare and some people actually steal the pets.! But otherwise I’d love to see something new
As long as the cats are comfortable and safe in their surroundings, cat cafes can be totally beneficial! Cats in the cafe can find a forever home, and may even enjoy the experience. Of course, it’s extremely important that the cats are not treated like merchandise, or bothered when resting.
I don’t like the thought of “renting” a pet. They need a forever home! So I guess I am against it because the pet will not be able to form a special bond with any one person. But as you said, they are well taken care of.
Cat cafes and pet rentals are different things altogether. I am very against pet rentals. I am super pro trial periods though before adopting from a shelter (my shelter does this for big dogs, especially if they have children). But cat cafes BECOME the forever home of the cats.
That’s why I think pet rental and cat cafes are a bit different – the cats would be able to bond with the cafe staff who are there regularly, and they get attention from lots of other people too, whereas rental pets are just constantly going from home to home/person to person.
I might have to visit one, just for research purposes!
