Hi everyone. I have a problem. Giving up meat is no problem, but I am having a very difficult time giving up cheese! I hate all the vegan cheeses. Also I’ve tried vegan recipes for mac and cheese and vegan cheese on pizza and so on, but it’s gross. What advice do you have??? Thanks!
Cheese is a tough one. I know this isn’t exactly the answer you’re looking for, but–
I’ve been a vegan for a few years now. Just today, I ordered a sub from Jimmy John’s, without cheese obviously, but I received some cheese on it. I removed and threw away most of it, but evidently I missed some and ended up consuming a relatively small amount of cheese. I used to love cheese–before becoming a vegan, of course–but after going quite some time without eating cheese, and then surprising my body by eating some unexpected cheese, I felt so sick and bloated afterwards. I’m talking burping and farting all over the place. I felt so gross.
Anyway, I know that isn’t exactly what you wanna hear, but just trust me and stick it out. It’ll get easier, and eventually the thought of cheese will be off-putting instead of enticing.
