I bought a bag of Morningstar Farms vegan “Chik’n strips” and well… They smell TERRIBLE and don’t taste good either. How can I make them taste good? I don’t want the bag to go to waste…

Are there any other brands of faux chicken strips or patties that actually taste good?

Thanks guys! I think I’ll try rinsing them off and smothering them in ketchup. They look pretty good. But yeah, like peppermintcherry said, as soon as I opened the bag for the first time I was like oh god what the… I tried to scarf them down to get it over with to not waste the tortilla wraps I made with them in it, but I kept gagging and I tried holding my nose to lessen the flavor.. No good lol.

The vegan meal starter chik’n strips? Yeah, they’re pretty awful. I found if I rinse that seasoning off really well and then throw them in a dish where there’s a really good sauce, they’re way more edible. I found that when you open the bag you HAVE to turn your head. That smell makes me gag. I have no idea way, on the ingredients it sounds like it should be awesome, sadly it’s not. Oh, and since you find this icky, stay away from gardein’s chik’n scallopini. Smells and tastes just like the Morningstar strips :s

lol…yeah ketchup is the ultimate fix. Or stir fry the strips, drench with sriracha sauce and wrap in a tortilla with veggies.
PETA has a few recipes that use Chik’n Strips like
    Chick’n With Strawberry Salsa
    ‘Creamy Chicken’ Casserole

Try to return them. I didn’t care for Morningstar’s brand of the Chik’n Strips either. If not I would recommend ketchup. Lots of it.
