Hey, I’ve been a vegetarian my entire life and a proud animal rights activist and Peta supporter. I am in my senior year of high school taking anatomy class. During the upcoming second semester, the teacher told us that cat dissection is essential to our grade and that if anyone doesn’t want to do it they should drop the class. I don’t want to drop it because it is a course that interests me and that I want to pursue a career in, yet the teacher says there is no alternative assignment and refusal to participate in the assignment will result in a failing grade in the class. I want to protest and stand up for what I believe in, but i don’t want to fail the class. What should I do?

I was raised eating meat, but I always had a love for animals. I had farm animals that my family and I would help take care of. At age 12 I went vegan because I knew that cows, pigs, and any other animals only want love and compassion.
