So, this afternoon when I got home from school, my phone buzzed and I got a text from my friend that I had recently reconnected with.

Her message read: “Hey, you’ve really inspired me to think about trying to attempt to give up meat… idk when I’m gonna start cause its hard… maybe for lent then see where it goes from there… maybe before idk yet”

(We went on to talk about vegetarianism and that I was definitely there to help her if she needed it, obviously.)

It felt really awesome knowing that I was able to change someone’s mind about something that’s just so widely accepted and “natural” in society.

Just thought I’d share. :) What about you guys? Ever convince a friend to change their eating habits?

I’ve done a lot of talking about it, not necessarily to make them change because I feel it’s more effective when people do it on their own. Each time I talk about it, it gives me an insight on how people think of their planet as well as their morals and judgements. Instead of judging them, I ask why they think that way because I’m not trying to attack them, which I feel is counter productive.

This article http://prime.peta.org/2011/01/fifty-repetitions helps me when I feel like people aren’t getting it. Just like everything new in life, people need repetition to understand.

I turned three of my friends vegetarian, but they gave up after a few days. Now they are sort of on again, off again vegetarians. I’m working to help them go veg for real :)

I’ve helped a friend consider going veg, but she always gives up within a day or so. :c Right now she says she’s quit for real, yet she isn’t eat as much. I’m still trying though!
