Does anyone have any suggestions about cruelty free/vegan shampoos/conditioners/leave in conditioners/other hair care products that cost $5 or less each? I am a hair care product junkie, I’ve tried tons of stuff and I can’t ever find a decent shampoo/conditioner that works better than say Pantene or a brand that does test on animals and I’m not cool with that. I have used Pureology (it’s wonderful) but that stuff is crazy expensive! I don’t feel right buying stuff from P&G. I have fine/straight hair, it’s pretty easy to work with. I’d love to know if anyone has found products that they absolutely love and are affordable. Thanks guy :)

@littlelambkc, Tresemme is currently owned by Unilever, so it’s no longer a vegan-friendly shampoo! They test on animals big time. Maybe try yes to carrots now, as everyone else seems to be suggesting that?

If you live in the UK you can’t beat The Co-op and Superdrug.

I’d definitely recommend Tresemme. Everything works just as well as Pantene for a good price, and there’s a huge selection so it’s not limited to one type of shampoo or one type of conditioner.
I’m not sure if its vegan, but I know they don’t test on animals.

Oh awesome, you can make your own, I think I’ll try that out and Yes to Carrots (I haven’t tried that yet and have wanted to) thanks everyone!

Right now I’m actually going through a bunch of Yes To Tomatoes shampoo and conditioner that I caught on close out sale at Walgreens a while back. After I run out, I’ll be buying some shampoo bars from LUSH. They last a very long time for me and are a reasonable price for the amount of product/uses you get.
