After just attending my first protest, I of course posted pictures online, and immediately I received negative feedback. I know this is something we have to deal with because of what we do, but how can we deal with it? The unwanted feedback really hurts my motivation for what I believe in. I immediately blocked these individuals, but that obviously won’t stop it. I know some people may not agree with me, but they accept my views and actions. For example, my best friend sadly has been hunting since she was little, but she 100% respects me. I could only wish everyone was like this, though I am aware that that will not happen. Since I live in a large hunting and livestock area, with well, ignorant people and anyone else, how could I deal with it? Thanks. x
I would stand up for myself and do not let anything like that get to you . Just always remember that you are doing good and you only have this one life so you got to do what you feel is right. Don’t let words get to you too much because they are just words and even though then can hurt emotionally, the people who are doing that have their own problems & I am sure later on in life they will feel bad. Karma will get them! Good things happen to good people believe me !!! & you always have PETA that stands for the same thing you do & that’s a good feeling too !
It’s great that you took a stand and attended your first protest!
I’m sorry you got a harsh reaction from some people. Just stay strong, firm, and positive, and be proud that you’re helping animals and making a difference. No matter how mean people might be at first, they’ll eventually back off once they understand that nothing is going to stop you from standing up for animals!
I ignore it. Or if you can just hide those posts from those people, disable comments, Build your animal loving/rights network. I recently met sooo many activists in my area and they inspire me everyday. It’s great support and love and acceptance. In numbers we are strong. You don’t even have to reply to their comments . Just remember actions speak louder than words. You are doing so much for animals, what are they doing? Hiding behind their words to cover up and justify their selfish actions.
