Ever hear of a Fruitcake Toss? A superfun annual competition to see who can toss the traditional hard-as-a-brick fruitcakes the farthest and in the most creative way possible.
The most well known is the Great Fruitcake Toss at Manitou Springs, CO. A total scream. ;)

But don’t toss these yumalicious last-minute fruitcakes that are speedy easy treats…

    Raw Vegan Gluten-Free Fruitcake
From Go Dairy Free, via Healthy Beginnings magazaine
    Ingredients
    Dried Fruit:
    1/4 cup agave nectar
    1/4 cup water
1/4 cup dried apricots, chopped into small pieces
1/4 cup dried pineapples, chopped into small pieces
    1/4 cup dried cherries
    1/4 cup golden raisins
    Cake:
    4 cups walnuts
    1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
    1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
    1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
    1/4 teaspoon sea salt
    1 cup dates

    Here’s the rest…Raw Vegan Gluten-Free Fruitcake
According to the Rules of the Interwebs, you can’t post someone else’s entire recipe, just part with a link to the rest, unless you’ve changed the recipe up bigtime.
So hit the link, see the whole recipe and make it your own (I love dried blueberries and figs so I’m subbing them in for the cherries and pineapple). Then eat up!

    Variations and Versions…
Really Raw Fruitcake, featuring dates, nuts and coconut, from VegFamily magazine
vegan fruitcake delight!, sooooo delicious baked version from Kris at nom!nom!nom!

Fruitcakes…eat or toss? Got any funny fruitcake stories to tell?
