• Dissections in University

I’m currently going to university and one of the courses that I am taking towards my Bachelors of Physical Education is called “Anatomy of the Human Body,” however (and I only found this out after already starting the course) is that we have to do two dissection labs as part of our course requirement. One is on a sheep heart and the other is on a frozen rat. Both take place in November. I just found this all out today and it breaks my heart, and I completely refuse to take part in anything that would cause any sort of harm to animals, however, this is a required course towards my degree so I can’t just drop the course. Basically, I need help to convince my professor to let me out of doing the dissection and to possibly do another animal-friendly project. What do you think I should say to convince her?
