When I ate meat (I was fifteen, roughly five years ago), I was curious about the meat industry so I started watching videos on peta. I watched a lot of the videos, and became vegetarian immediately after seeing these videos. I also watched videos and read Free The Animals (about ALF, amazing book btw), and then became cruelty free in everything that I bought. So basically, I’ve seen and read a lot about animals..

I find now that watching any kind of video or anything, make me quiver and I absolutely cannot watch it no matter how hard I try. Does anyone else feel like this, or is it just me?
    Is this wrong of me?

No, because it means you’re compassionate. If you don’t feel anything then you have a problem.

No I feel the same. I get depressed for days whenever I watch the cruel video’s. It just means we care.

No, it’s not wrong, because you no longer support them. I can’t watch videos anymore, either. They used to make me terribly depressed when I used to watch them, and now I can’t just bring myself to watch them, anymore.

The first video i watched was how a raccoon got skinned alive. It really got to me. A picture is worth a thousand words, it has a greater impact too.

You are definitely not alone. I became vegetarian after watching Peta’s “Glass Walls”. It moved me so much because I absolutely love Paul McCartney. Since then, I haven’t watched another video. I keep meaning to so that I can be a bit more passionate but I just can’t bring myself to do it. It’s like, I already know the horrors, so why give myself more nightmares.

Yup. I can’t watch it and after the first five minutes of earthling that I watched, I couldn’t watch no more. So it’s not wrong of you <3

I watched Earthlings (which is like a 2-hour graphic tear-jerker) about 3 times in order to show it to friends, but now it’s been nearly impossible to sit through videos like that. I can only do it to show other people.

I can watch them as long as I look away from the graphic parts; sometimes I do watch them with friends or to remind myself why I’m vegan. It’s not wrong in anyway, it’s completely fair and natural to feel revulsion at something you have given up but other people still do if it is wrong. (like this) it is a matter of personal preference, so don’t feel bad either way.

I watched videos as a meat eater, but refuse to now.

I’m no longer willing to watch footage of animal cruelty.
Watching such footage upsets me so much that I cannot function properly, and I feel that by adhering to a vegan lifestyle I have earned the right to not have to watch such footage.

If there’s an animal rights video that I need to watch which contains such footage, I either watch carefully for it and skip it, or I disable the video and just listen to the audio.
