The college I go to is pretty vegan friendly. There is a veg*n dining hall, which is great. But the dining hall in my house is not. I asked the chefs if they could label which dishes are vegan, just to make it easier on us vegans in the house. The head chef just rolled her eyes at me and gestured over to the salad bar. All I wanted was to know which main dishes are vegan. It’s not like I was trying to get my entire dining hall to go vegan or something.

Maybe speak to your principal or someone else who is above the head chef. Point out that it’s not just vegans who would benefit but other people with dietary requirements such as those who are lactose intolerant, coeliac or want Halal foods.

    Hey @alexismyname

That sounds totally frustrating! It’s a great idea to open up a friendly dialogue with your dining hall chef and let them know why labeling makes things easier for everyone!
