So i currently care for my grandmother, and arguing with her on were we shop is just not worth it. She loves to shop at walmart. And i dont have the time to go out of my way and hit the health foods store because i have to help her shop at walmart. so i just do my shopping there.
Are there any good products at walmart for a vegan diet. i havent looked much yet, but are there tofurky products? are there vegan foods?
Yep! At least at the walmarts I have where I live, there’s Boca vegan burgers and chik’n patties, earth balance, smart balance light, and blue bonnet light, all of the Amy’s brand soups. Soy, almond, and coconut milk, and then of course your basics like rice, beans, frozen and fresh veggies and fruits, and tofu. Unfortunately, walmart doesn’t care much in the way of vegan bread. Everything they sell contains either milk or a myriad of other animal ingredients. The only solution I have found to that though are pita pockets and tortillas.
On a side note, it’s super expensive and not very good, health and taste wise, to eat a lot of the fake stuff :/
I shop almost exclusively at Aldi and Walmart, and have been doing so for years, so if you have any other questions or need some more advice, hit me up!
The Walmart that I work at carries some of Amy’s meals, Earth Balance butter, Nondairy milks, Yves hotdogs, tofu, and Gardein products. Their PB stuffed pretzels are vegan, some of the stuff that is in the gluten-free aisle is vegan, and so is some of their bread from the bakery.
