    I did it! Sort of.
Well, I opened it at least. Even though there’s still only one flavor available at the moment XD
I am going to offer mini-cupcake samplers as well at a much lower price. I just have to go on a cupcake making spree so I can get pictures of everything.

I’ll also point out that the cupcake on the banner is actually one of my foot tattoos.
I’m not obsessed with cupcakes or anything.

MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM……….. sounds good. I’m gonna have to get started on baking all these delicious recipes.
You know what we (peta2 members) should do? We should make a vegan blog. Or a website.
    Yesh.

vegan red velvet? Whenever you make them, I will DEFINITELY buy them! (:
    2-3/4 cups all purpose flour
    2 cups granulated sugar
    1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
    2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt
1-3/4 cups soy or almond milk
    1 cup vegetable oil
    3 Tablespoons vanilla extract
    2 Tablespoons red wine vinegar
1/4 cup red coloring (You can use fresh strawberry juice, beet juice, food coloring, etc. I suggest strawberry juice, however, food coloring can be bitter, and many other things can work to color the cake)

Mix the cake together, and use a vegan frosting on the top!

I like to use this one! (:

@alexblue mmmmm butterscotch :D I’m actually lucky, they sell vegan butterscotch chips at a local bulk store here. I’m gonna add those to the list :D
The cookie ones, I will try to make – I’ve tried to make them in the past and I just haven’t been able to get them to turn out the way I want them to. I’m a perfectionist when it comes to baking lol

@hakred I’m actually working on making my own vegan marshmallow, so a smores cupcake would be AWESOME :D
I totally agree though, as far as the U.S. goes, the midwest is one of the worst places to be a vegan lol – at least anywhere that isn’t a major city. The closest whole foods or trader joes is about an hour away, and the next best thing is the health section of Kroger – which is understocked and overpriced. That’s why I’m really experimenting with using common ingredients to make my own vegan replacements. If I can get my hands on some agar agar, oh man… it’s going to get all molecular gastronomy up in here.
Thanks so much for wishing me good luck :) At this point though, I probably wont be able to move back to California for at least another year or so, and that’s really where I would prefer to open the shop. But until then, I have no problem working locally and through the internet :D

S’mores, maybe.. or.. cheesecake flavored? We need more places to buy vegan food in these areas. I hate having to travel hours if I want to be lazy and have someone else prepare my food for me. Haha! Good luck in opening your store, hopefully you get to do so soon and I hope your Etsy does well – as well. Who doesn’t love cupcakes? :)

@Sagojyou lol I’m temping at an office this week, but I should be able to work on them the beginning of next week :)
I totally understand, I’ve actually -never- bought a vegan cupcake from anywhere because of how expensive they are. I usually stand in the bakery at Whole Foods and just admire all the pretty vegan baked goods from afar lol.
I would really like to open my own store – and I plan on setting up at the weekly farmer’s market in town this spring/summer – but to open a vegan cupcake store in this area would be a direct shot into a pile of debt. The closest place a vegan anything would possibly succeed is about an hour away :/
So for now, the internet is my store lol

@Styna, OMG, really?! Aw man, I am so excited now, because I’m in a mood for cupcakes, no joke! And the local co-op ones are so expensive!! If I can get 6 (or more! I would NOT complain, ha ha!) cupcakes for shipping ($9 yeah?), I am totally willing to to pay!
Sounds good! I can wait! And I’ll write a long review about all of them on here, so it would help you decide if you want to add it to your store or not!
Are you thinking of doing a serious business (like opening your own store in the future)? Or is this more of an experiment? :?

@sagojyou That’s a great idea! I would definitely be down for that! a free half dozen cupcakes as long as shipping is paid :)
The cheesecake cupcake sounds amazing too, I’m going to experiment with that one for sure.
I will definitely be making the chocolate on chocolate one you suggested, and the peppermint one Dagmar suggested – I’ve just been too busy the last couple weeks to spend much time in the kitchen haha. But yeah, once I make those I’ll let you know!

Hey girl, just a thought, but if you ever choose any flavors that we suggested, you should totally give us a free one, because we gave you the ideas! XD
If you totally do, I wouldn’t mind paying the shipping, but I would like to try one!
Oooh, and another idea! You should make cheesecake flavored cupcakes!! If that is ever possible, I will love you forever XD

Good luck, such a great idea! I really like how you’ve figured out shipping–hopefully the USPS doesn’t knock them around too much! ;)

@Hakred:D thats a great idea! I am definitely going to plan on doing that.

@sagojyou ooooo that sounds delicious :D

@peppermintcherry – thanks :) Yeah I spent a long time trying to figure out that best way to do it. While I’d rather send them looking all pretty and stuff, I’d much rather send them like this to be sure that don’t arrive destroyed.

Yay! I hope your cupcakes sell well! I like how you’re going to ship them, no one will end up with soggy mushed up cupcakes.

You should make chocolate sponge + chocolate frosting, and I mean a ton of chocolate frosting!! :D

Also, @Styna – might I recommend doing a bake sale for peta2 with all of the cupcakes you’re cooking up for the photos? If you shoot them an e-mail, they’ll help with materials such as leaflets.

Girrrrrrrrl, next time I’m in the area.. (if you’re still selling) I’m going to have to pick some of these up from you. :)
