I’ve been thinking a lot about it… The boards are always littered with questions about when peta2 is going to put new merch up, to the point where it can be quite distracting and cluttered feeling. And I’m not perfect – there’s been a few times I’ve asked myself! I mean, sometimes you just get so CURIOUS, ya know? It’s a valid question. People have worked hard to earn their street team points, and are wondering if they’ll regret spending those points now, or if they should have waited for that shirt that seems to come out the very next day. I love the tasks, and am often among the first to complete them, but even doing all the tasks when they come out, it just doesn’t add up fast enough, and by then, the goods you’ve been saving for might be gone! Which, interestingly enough, is another regular frustration members vent about.
I was thinking about problems to fix the common annoyances of the boards/ site. If you were to implement some sort of weekly or monthly exchange of goods, it would give a clear schedule of what can be expected so people don’t always feel the need to ask. Sometimes it might be little prizes (bracelets, AR lit, etc.) or it might be the bigger, awesome stuff (clothing, books, accessories, and such), but we’ll always know (kind of) what to expect, even if we don’t know the actual merch! 🙂
I don’t know…just an idea that could really clean up the boards from posts regarding prizes, merch, and with some creative wordplay – posts about goods mailing/ post questions (like “how long will it take?” or “do you send to….”).
They could allow street teamers to sign up for alerts so that they’ll receive an e-mail when new merchandise is available for points in the street team store. It’s definitely a good topic to build ideas on, @helena8664. 🙂
